I had no idea things were going in this direction. Has there been alot on/in the news about this? I recall a subject
http://www.cassiopaea.org/forum/index.php?topic=2392
about Ethiopia and Somalia recently but I did not get the idea the US might go on a "war against terror" there.

I did a slight amount of research on it Somalia
https://www.cia.gov/cia/publications/factbook/geos/so.html

Somolia, Economy: "Livestock, hides, fish, charcoal, and bananas are Somalia's principal exports, while sugar, sorghum, corn, qat, and machined goods are the principal imports." GDP - real growth rate:2.4%

Somolia, Military: A Somali National Army was attempted under the interim government; numerous factions and clans maintain independent militias, and the Somaliland and Puntland regional governments maintain their own security and police forces[.]

Somalia, People: 8,863,338

Somalia, Transportation: 65 Airports 7 of which have actual paved runways.

It's possible that I have missed some info on the recent goings on but at least for me this was completely unexpected. Has there been some discussion of late on this attack being a possiblity insofar as the US is concerned? Has it been in the news as far as planning or the usual finger pointing?

It appears AdPop made some mention - pretty distincly I might add - elsewhere on the forum

http://www.cassiopaea.org/forum/index.php?topic=2392&p=1 Page 2 #13

Quoting AdPop (06-12-22): "This kind of internal division in Somalia would be just the thing to foment if you were, for example, Ethiopians getting ready to invade Somalia (or the backers of Ethiopia looking to win a battle in the "War on Terror")."

I recall a documentary I watched quite a while ago, the exact details of which I no longer remember, that outlined the interests that the US has in the oil reserves of Africa. This may simply be an "in" for them (and of course, the whole thing has obviously been planned for quite a while). I wish I could recall the name of the documentary for more information.

The military is "claiming" they were attacking the "terrorists" who were responsible for the Embassy bombings in 1998.

How convenient.

After the assassination of an Italian investigative reporter in 1994 (Mogadishu), Ilaria Alpi, and her aide Miran Hrovatin, a huge illegal traffic of toxic and nuclear waste was exposed (thought covered by the mainstream networks), running between Italy and Somalia. Somalia could be a dumping zone for many other nations too.

Hi Dantem following up a little on what your wrote I found something at a UN Economic and Social Counsel here:
http://www.unhchr.ch/huridocda/huridoca.nsf/70ef163b25b2333fc1256991004de370/c5a1f2b314ab1d6cc1256611004fce17?OpenDocument

That said, quoting paragraph #61
"..The National Salvation Army in Somalia, for instance, declared that the country was being treated like a dumping site, with the result that neighbouring countries might be affected as well. Common action and a clear stand by the international community, in this and similar cases, are therefore urgently needed."

Another something I had no clear Idea about. There is soo much (evil, in my perspective) to keep up with.
