The Force is Strong With This One
As we've learned from the very nature of the project with the "Cs," the role of "scribe" is essential in the realms of human activities for preserving and expanding knowledge, establishing laws and recording events, and generally speeding up thought and even ushering in the era of modernity itself. Thus it seems no skill is more important than literacy, and thus, the role of writing (to at least light up some more of the walls of the "cave.") A fascinating parallel journey taken by poet James Merrill and his partner David Jackson, on a Ouija board from the 50s to the 80s, yields interesting information regarding the scribe as a function "cloned" into our evolving nature. As recorded by Merrill in the poetic trilogy The Changing Light at Sandover, the transcriptions of conversations with "higher levels" provide many fruitful ideas also parallel to those of the Cs. In this case the one worth mentioning is the notion of the "V work"; bound up with this is the Idea of the number 5, of 5 elements, as well as 5 archetypes of main human actors in history (outlined in TCLaS as Plato, Homer, Montezuma, Akhenaton and Nefertiti). The "V" work of a scribe, as such, is bound up with uncovering (and furthering) these same elemental-metaphysical/bio-historical narratives based, at least in part, on the far fling resonances of "Five." One would be curious to know what the Cs also think of the nature of this "Work"!
