Although most of us will already know a lot about the failings of our education system the documentary The War on Kids is still interesting and shocking. It depicts life in American schools and shows the horrors of the system that young people have to contend with every day. It has nothing to do with education, when the police are involved in day-to-day life. Shocking images of police brutality (where in one school kids were threatened against the wall by police-officers with menacing-looking police dogs). Young kids taken away in handcuffs sometimes as young as five years old are examples of a world gone truly raving mad. :(
I watched it a couple of times. It was painful to watch, but I loved the honesty and critical faculties of the young people that were interviewed for this documentary. I could feel their heartache. Also, the other interviewees were brilliant, OSIT.
