An orchestrated campaign is being waged against climate change science to undermine public acceptance of man-made global warming, environment experts claimed last night.

The attack against scientists supportive of the idea of man-made climate change has grown in ferocity since the leak of thousands of documents on the subject from the University of East Anglia (UEA) on the eve of the Copenhagen climate summit last December.

Free-market, anti-climate change think-tanks such as the Atlas Economic Research Foundation in the US and the International Policy Network in the UK have received grants totalling hundreds of thousands of pounds from the multinational energy company ExxonMobil. Both organisations have funded international seminars pulling together climate change deniers from across the globe.

....

Many of these critics have broadcast material from the leaked UEA emails to undermine climate change predictions and to highlight errors in claims that the Himalayan glaciers could disappear by 2035. Professor Phil Jones, who has temporarily stood down as director of UEA's climactic research unit, is reported in today's Sunday Times to have "several times" considered suicide. He also drew parallels between his case and that of Dr David Kelly, found dead in the wake of the row over the alleged "sexing up" of intelligence in the run-up to the invasion of Iraq. Professor Jones said he was taking sleeping pills and beta-blockers and had received two death threats in the past week alone.

What a surprise! The global warming psychos are accusing others of what they themselves have done and are doing. The whole global warming scam goes back to the 80's. Maggie Thatcher was one of the first politicians to offer government money to scientists who could prove carbon dioxide caused global warming. Apparently he main agenda then was to build nuclear power stations in the UK and she wanted to claim that Co2 from coal was eeevil! She also wanted to put the final nail in the coffin of the miners union, and any semblance of democracy.

The thing is, coal burning IS very unhealthy and needs special cleaners to keep the air clean. But putting the burden on the corporations was not to be allowed - can't set a precedent - and they certainly didn't want to acknowledge that most health issues are due to pollution and NOT cigarette smoking. So, voila! "Global Warming."

Also money was being made off of all of this with the totally lame idea of buying and selling "shares" of pollution. Then corporations who did not need their shares sold them to corporations that did. Thus... Same amount of pollution... More money!

Which ties in, though indirectly, to what Obama said in his state of the union address. He said, 'the science supporting global warming is unquestionable' - got some grumbles from the crowd - and then he said, "even if it weren't, this is the right thing to do, this will be the new economy and the smart thing to do is to lead it". (slightly paraphrased)

In other words, it doesn't matter whether 'global warming' is true or not, what matters is that 'america' can make money off of it so the legislation should be pursued.
