Thirty Years Among The Dead on Reincarnation questions.

I have almost completed the book, “Thirty Years among the Dead” and found some conflicting ideas based on the idea of Reincarnation or what was known at that time was the study of Theosophy.
In my study I always thought that coming back to earth in different manifestations was pointing to be a more possibility that this was likely a correct understanding. However, near the end of the book by Carl Wickland gives accounts of this spirits teaching him that this was an incorrect idea.

One of the spirits that came though his wife was Madam Blavatsky, a 19 century Theosophy teacher, which taught this principle to her followers. I have studies some of her work, and in reading about her on the forum, I do think that on earth, she was not correct in many of her ideas or directions (maybe a good subject for another thread). This; however, the subject of reincarnation, seems to be universal in scope and detailed in many famous works about the subject.

Some quotes that caught my interest was from Madam Blavatsky which questioned my understanding on the subject, including what I have read from the C’s and from Laura's works.

“ EXPERIENCE, NOVEMBER 1, 1922 Spirit: MADAM BLAVATSKY Psychic: MRS. WICKLAND

…To me came Reincarnation. It appealed to me for a time. I could not see the truth clearly. I felt that it was very unjust some should be rich and have such good times and that others should be poor and have so much trouble. Others did not get enough earth experience -at least so I felt. I studied Reincarnation, and I thought there was truth and justice in the theory that we come back and learn and have more experiences. I taught it and wanted to bring it out to the world and its peoples. I felt that I remembered far back in my past. I felt I knew all about my past, but I was mistaken. Memories of “past lives” are caused by spirits that bring such thoughts and represent the lives they lived. A spirit impresses you with the experiences of its life and these are implanted in your mind as your own. You then think you remember your past.
… Let us develop the truth within us -find ourselves. Do not let us look far away; do not let us look in the past, do not let us look into the future, but let us find ourselves in our present condition and let us be true to ourselves. Let us forget all theories and dogmas. Let us know and feel the nearness of God. Reincarnation is not true. I did not want to believe that. They told me here in the spirit world that I could not reincarnate. I have tried and tried to come back to be somebody else, but I could not. We cannot reincarnate. We progress, we do not come back. Why should you come back to live another life when you have gained experience and an understanding while you were here, and, furthermore, since this is only a preliminary school on earth? ...

Wickland, Carl (2014-10-15). Thirty Years Among The Dead.”

So is the understanding of reincarnation I have gained not correct as I have learned?
Have any forum readers also came to this conclusion?
What direction on understanding have those that studied this idea have concluded. What would be the basis for this contradiction as widely known?

Kingtiger Hi, I found myself with that of reincarnation and what the spirit of Madam Blatavsky told Carl Wickland, here will give a personal interpretation first thing that came to mind was what Laura has said on many occasions dead one is just that, a dead, that is if you still have not reached the fifth density (mentioned by the Cassiopaeans as a zone of contemplation) knowledge remains the same as when you leave the physical body, on the other hand another point to consider is I'd have to not necessarily be the spirit of Madam who Blatavsky they would be channeled, another spirit one might be passing by it, with the intension of fun or just confused, there are several books whose authors have done extensive research on reincarnation in section of recommended books is this Life Between Life - Joel L. Whitton, also there is another point that comes to mind perhaps for us if it's reincarnation, but in reality we are living all lives while time does not exist outside 3d (at least not as we know it) I hope to help a bit

Thanks riclapaz for your insight.

I too think that these souls channeled may not be the same soul as what was thought them to be. I do think that even in this medium, one must realize that we may still be mislead. Since these spirits could still be echos of the original essence, they may be able to be controlled by other collections of conciseness. I think that once we really reach 5 D, we are pure thoughts and no longer attached to the physical. When reaching that true separation of the material, our collective can make the choice (or compelled) to manifest again back to 3 D.
Coming back here seems to me as a the higher form of agreement we chose to experience and time is just illusion.

If you come back to learn something new. But in order to do it you have to forget everything you learnt before this point and then remember it again which often takes a lifetime anyway. So it would likely have to happen again and again - reincarnation that is. I dont know either way, maybe its feasible that its a false belief thats come about by impressions of others who passed. At least it doesn't seem very efficient as a spiritual learning process.

Just to add to other's input: when I was reading the particular book, or others on the same subject, I was keeping in mind that the information that comes through the medium is "filtered" by the medium's own beliefs, understanding of reality, preconceptions, etc. What I found most interesting in those stories was not any ideas/theories/cosmologies that came through, but HOW and WHY people would be "stuck" after death and not move on.
