Here is a realistic and very disturbing movie about nuclear war. It was made in 1984 and won several BAFTA awards after its release.

Watched this about a year ago. Its amazing how much darkness and sadness the older films were able to communicate.
A very powerful film.

I think theres def been an agenda to make us all feel like the darkness doesnt exist anymore in new'er films. Even films where the world is ending, its all 'fun, happy, jokey'.

I will watch again this movie tonight. It is one of my favorites. What I like in this type of movies is to see how people, ordinary people, are completely unaware of what can come from politicians. I like to see the little details that are very common in that sort of movie: the news from radio or tv, the life that continues as if nothing was more important... Then suddenly patapum. This movie in particular is very hard, specially when the nuclear winter is there and people and nature live in extremely hard conditions. Very sad also. And I think very realistic.
