It occurs to me, and this may not be new to many here, that if “Knowledge is Light is Love” then with possible impending catastrophes and earth changes that may drastically change all facets of our world then the best gift of love that you can leave for future generations is Knowledge.
But how to leave it in a form that will survive the possible impending disasters and mass extinctions? Digital media may not survive, there may not be electricity, metals can rust, books and papers can burn.
Lessons from the past show us that there are methods and ways of leaving information, but that the information can be corrupted if it falls into the wrong hands both without conscious intention, and with it.
So I’ve been thinking about time capsules containing information. How could that information be recorded, organised and preserved?
I’ve been thinking that I’d like to leave something, but what and how?
There is a selection of books that I have that if there were a way to protect and preserve them in the instance of a mass extinction event then I would like to do that. I could also write out quotes from books or authors that I don’t have to leave with those books.
Each of us could have a plan along these lines to preserve such materials for future generations if there are any.
It’s kind of like what the ancients seem to have done for us, either planned or not.
