Tips for a family of 6 on a budget.

We decided to switch to meta genie a few days ago and then just immediately started. We love it. The kids love it. BUT...I am worried about being able to sustain it. Simply for economic reasons. We are a family of 6 of a fixed income. Any tips on saving money and yet getting the best items would be appreciated. We also do not eat anything with dyes, preservatives, or prepackaged and we raise chickens so we have an abundance of eggs.

Have you read the recommended books? I hope you haven't started this thinking you could learn along the way. Doing this without being prepared can be a huge mistake.

What is your meal plan currently? And if you can't afford a ketogenic diet, how could you afford to feed your family in the first place?

The only carbs in our diet were rice, potatoes, and corn. We were already eating different than most. We removed processed foods a long time ago and started making most everything from scratch. We also, already avoid sugar and hidden sugars, carbs etc. It took a long time to get the budget down to eat that way. Yes, I have read quite a lot on ketagenic diets. We often struggle to fit everything into our budget, but somehow manage to make it work each month. Prices have been increasing in our area quite a bit. Oddly enough, the largest increase I have seen is in seafood prices and we are on the Carolina coast. I am really just looking for tips on things that aren't high in price and easy to stock up on, since a lot of folks here have been doing this awhile.
