I know it's an old topic but the UFO you saw with your wife reminds me of the one who was seen in 1990 over the Place Bonnaventure, Montréal.

According to the police officers that were interviewed (it's still on youtube "Ovni Place Bonnaventure"), the feds and the army had been warned (that was the mandatory precedure) and after a while, a F-18 was even send from Bagotville and flew over. Then later on, at some point, the NORAD (North American Aerospace Defense Command) came, took all reports and left, leaving the story unresolved for us, so to speak.
It further says at the end that:
At that time, the Canadian Government wanted every agent to immediately report any UFO, meteor or fireball sighting to the closest "Centre National de Recherche" (National Research Center) and send a written version of the report as well. The written report had to mention the date, time, place, duration of event, height, movements/observations, weather and the name of all witnesses.
Now I was only 4 at the time so I can't really say if the documentary is accurate and 100% true but that is quite interesting nontheless. Perhaps you remember this since you are older? Or anybody else on the forum?

I've also heard strage UFO/alien stories that supposedly happened in L'Annonciation (now called Rivière-Rouge) and my uncle who lives there say one of his former friend inexplicably became crazy one day saying he had been abducted by aliens. Anyhow, there were no real evidence here, merely rumors so I never really made anything out of it.
Quite interestignely though, I made some later research about it and found a video showing what is "supposedly" an alien body that was found exactly in L'Annonciation in 1992 (winter). It is also on youtube ("The Quebec Alien 1992"). Here is the story that came from further investigation. I translated it the best I could. The story supposedly comes from a guy who took pictures of the original pictures (explained in the story):
Apparently, this alien-looking body was found in the woods of L'Annonciation (Québec) by snowmobilers at night. They lifted it up with a cable not to touch it and filmed it. They didn't know what to think or do so they decided to leave the body and come back the next day - only to find out it had disseapeared. They concluded that perhaps a coyote or other animal had probably taken it. So one of the witness went to his friend's place, showed the pics and said he would contact a paranormal investigator. That is when his friend's roomate played the tape (photos came from a VHS) and filmed shots (that is what is on youtube) without the witness noticing (that is why it dosen't last long). He kept the evidence to himself for many years, fearing he would be ridiculed but eventually shared them anonymously on the internet. He still dosen't know if it was real or not and dosen't want to make any conclusion, being a sceptic himself. Finally, the witness did went to see the investigator who said it wasen't the first time he saw that and that there's nothing he can do unfortunately. He also told the witness not to bother making this public as he would be immediately discredited etc.
Anyhow, without anything else I can't make any conclusion. It could very well be a prank as well. But still, something else might come up that gives us more clues about it. Have you or anybody here that lives/have lived in Québec have heard/seen anything else in relation to UFO's (not necessarily this precise case)?
