TRON Legacy

Recently saw it as well and although it was entertaining, I found it to have a rather simplistic story line and little substance. The only interesting ideas (like the iso's) got no more than a passing reference - mostly the film seemed to focus on the visuals. At least that was my impression. Perhaps I missed something or just did not "get it".

Nah, I agree with you Fireshadow. It was a pretty decent action film, straight-forward plot. It did have some Jesus-savior imagery built in, the whole God the Father, The Son, Holy Spirit bits with Flynn, His Son and the girl representing each. Mainly all about the visuals and the music, it was definitely worth-watching, I caught it in Imax 3D and thought it was spectacular.

The visuals were pretty good and yes, I like the music as well. But, I really wanted to know more about the "iso's" (i.e. the girl)! They offered a tidbit just to introduce the girl, but it only served to pique my curiosity. Oh well, can't have everything.

Semi-spoiler alert

I saw it and would say that it is interesting how the "creator" created a copy of himself to construct the world, which was flawed as it had his limited viewpoints on what should be. The iso-morphs seemed to create themselves, a mutation of the code. It was interesting but I too feel like there should have been more depth to the isos' storyline.

Animated Tron TV Series Confirmed

"asfdsa Tron fans may have had to wait 28 years between the original and Tron Legacy, but it won't be long before their next Tron hit.

The sci-fi epic will be heading to TV in a 10-part animation.

Tron: Legacy's writers Adam Horowitz and Eddie Kitsis has revealed their plans to create a miniseries that will aim to tell the story of what happened in the grid between movies.

Horowitz told Box Office Magazine that not only do they have substantial studio support behind the project, but they have an A-List voice cast lined up too.

Tron Legacy SpecialMore Lightbikes!"We've hired an incredible team; we've got a guy running the show named Charlie Bean who is an amazing director..... We're treating it very seriously."

"The animated show will take place from when Flynn is in a safe house," he teased. "It's from when Clu takes over the grid to before when Sam comes in. So if you were wondering what the grid was like before that, then watch the show."

"Bruce Boxleitner is in it, Elijah Wood, Linda Moore, Paul Reubens, Lance Henriksen. I mean, we've got a really cool group of actors," Horowitz raved.

In regards to a straight up movie sequel, Legacy's tepid box office returns have thrown doubt on a threequel, although talk of Tron 3 has been circulating since before Tron: Legacy's release, with both cast and crew keen to continue the story.

Thanks to this Tron Legacy, now I can say that I definitely hate this 3D technology! It just flatten the whole movie down one dimension instead of giving one up!

..apart that, I was taken aback with the n^n myth of creation being represented on movie screens. There were number 6s and 306 all over, hexagons, and that 'OH' or 'HO' mark - was it a bad dream of mine? - stamped on the arms of the new-born ISO-first-digital-humans  while the Creator (J. Bridges) passed the scepter to his co-creator son going back/down to Earth. Even the Bridges-clone mirroring his image on a shiny and metallic apple...

Then the most mind-numbing (brain-jello pop?) Daft Punk soundtrack just follows.

Anyway I cannot miss this one :P . I saw the original back in the '80 and was fun to remind how naive I was in front of all that 'digital age' ahead of me. Great effects too. And I just love those bright color stripes over black surfaces, lol!
