I'm trying to figure out the Ark's Quantum Quirks - Troubling Triangles from the Issue No 12 Dot Connector Magazine and I'm having difficulty. I've been trying to use a math program Sketchpad which I'm learning in my Geometrics math class and I'm really at a loss to explain the extra area in the second diagram. It is kinda driving me batty!
The only thing I find noticeable for the two diagrams is that the area covered along the hypotenuse for both the large and small triangle in second diagram seems to cover less area from looking at the picture when compared with the first diagram. Mentally adding up the area difference from the small changes to the area covered seems like it could add up to the missing area in the second diagram. That's the only thing I've been able to come up with thus far.
Any guidance or hints to help me figure it out is appreciated.
