Trump Elected: The True MAGA Era Begins, Now What?

I have to laugh at the ignorance of so many Western commentators on global politics, especially Russia and Ukraine. On multiple occasions over the past few years, some big name commentators stridently warned about impending nuclear war because of some move or other by one side or the other. On all of those occasions, we dismissed their concerns for a more sober analysis, and obviously have been proven right.

Yet today, the US govt. approved the US of long range Western offensive weapons inside Russia (Kursk region), and there's nary a word about it on SM.

More importantly, in Sept. Putin said that the Kremlin would consider such actions as direct Western involvement in the war with Russia:

"The Ukrainian Armed Forces cannot independently carry out strikes using Western precision weapons, that the targeting data for these weapons "can only be provided by NATO military personnel, and the missiles themselves are guided by NATO satellite systems."

And therefore, the issue is not about whether to allow the Ukrainian regime to strike Russia with these weapons but about deciding whether NATO countries will directly participate in the military conflict. If such a decision is made, it will signify nothing less than the direct involvement of NATO countries, the United States, and European nations in the war in Ukraine. This, of course, fundamentally changes the essence and nature of the conflict. It will mean that NATO countries, the U.S., and European nations are at war with Russia. If that is the case, given the changes in the conflict's nature, we will make appropriate decisions based on the threats posed to us," Putin stated on September 12."

So where's the freak out? Or is everyone still riding too high on the MAGA victory to bother?

And then there's this:

Donald Trump may reconsider Biden's decision on strikes with American weapons deep into Russian territory.

This was stated by a representative of Trump's transition team to TASS.

And this:

And this:
It's such a s*it show,

Just this morning, hours before the autorization by Biden, Lloyd Austin had this to say.

“I think you've heard me say before that, at the end of the day, it will be resolved through negotiation,” he said.

Then Biden authorizes long range missile strikes on Ukraine, almost at the same time that France and the UK do the same.

So, I am with Jr on this one, part of their efforts to mine the ground for Trump's presidency is initiating a global conflict that he can't negotiate his way out of.

Session Date: April 27th 2024

Q: (L) Is it something that we're seeing at the present moment with these massive protests that are going on at the US universities, which is basically making Israel look really, really bad?

(Joe) Because of what they're doing in Palestine.

(L) So they've got some kind of something that's got to be done about this?

A: Very warm.

Q: (L) So, it has to do with Israel, possibly with Trump and the American political scene and the mass protest against the genocide and Palestine?

A: Yes

Q: (L) So, they're going to try to do something because...

(Joe) To distract from all that.

(L) To distract from all that, or to damp that down?

A: Yes

I dunno, but was the additional seeding of Hurricane Helene and the resultant extreme destruction in NC the planned distraction?

Orr, was it the Biden coup and the installation of Kamala as the new presidential candidate the distraction? Of course, her candidacy only served to highlight the protests to the Palestinian genocide, so ??? Was it a miscalculation?

Orr, is the major distraction still waiting in the wings . . .

Yes, WWIII breaking out would be a major distraction. :umm:

loud and clear... or 7d chess ? :)

This sort of thinking is exactly what drives people into corners that lead to all kinds of fallacies. As if these are the only options.

What about trying to understand how politics work, beyond "good guy = confirms X which I have on my mind right now" and "bad guy = denies X which I have on my mind right now"? What about understanding humans? Understanding Reality?

You probably won't get what I'm saying here to be honest, which is exactly the problem with this sort of charged, black and white, subjective and low-resolution thinking which cherry-picks a few (distorted) facts to support a grand story and which so many of the "it's all actors!" camp exhibit.

Just how wildly off the mark this sort of thinking will lead one can be shown by some of the reactions to the McDonald's photo on the plane:

OMG they are mocking us! It's all a big joke see, they secretly love seed oils!!! They are all in on it!!

Anyone able to switch off the inhuman dot-connecting hyperdrive for a moment will immediately see the humanity in this situation: these people make some lighthearted fun of themselves, showing that they are capable of not taking themselves too seriously, and that they are not mouth-foaming zealots, but, well, humans. Which is actually endearing and reassuring. How anyone can interpret this any other way is beyond me.

Well I sincerely hope you are right, however it is beyond me how can anyone who is even slightly health conscious ( let alone someone like RKJ who is supposed to be completely switched on) eat even a morsel of garbage like that. There is also a coke bottle in front of him. It just doesn't add up.

Sure it does - RFK (And everyone else in that photo) is human and not a saint or a god or to be put a pedestal (or as others are doing, cast as devils and demons).
He doesn't have any nasty autoimmune issues (that I'm aware of) which limits his food intake to an ultra clean diet. In fact he seems supremely healthy based on the number of pullups I've seen him do - so sure, why not eat and drink that (on rare occasions) if it's not going to seriously mess you up?
I mean, how many times do you get to fly on air force one and have Trump buy you McDonalds?
Maybe it's bad optics - but in the end it'll be RFK's actions at large that count. IF they are not blocked.

Well said!

It is as luc said:

Not taking yourself too seriously and being human also means that you don’t have to be monkish/rigid about things (like food for example) and you can make exceptions/compromises every now and then. There is something that is a lot more important IMO: For example, human community and fun together. And that can sometimes mean eating something good tasting that is “bad“ at times. It can also mean that if you are getting together with some people who don’t eat like you do, that you can make exceptions/compromises in order to be a good guest that appreciates their offer/efforts.

RFK jr. recently commented on Trump's penchant for McD's and mentioned them eating it (as seen in this pic) on Trump's plane specifically. He said he had a hard time doing it, as seems to be evident from his face in this pic

The point of MAHA is to make it more difficult for food manufacturers to include toxic food in their products and to market it to people. That's a top level down operation, and obviously doesn't involve banning McDs.

That said, it WOULD be a good idea for Trump et al NOT to promote eating such food to the American people given that many people are like children and will, consciously or subconsciously, understand such displays as approval of that kind of fast food.

Here's what RFK jr said: “The stuff that he eats is really, like, bad,” he said. “Campaign food is always bad, but the food that goes onto that airplane is, like, just poison. You have a choice between — you don’t have the choice, you’re either given KFC or Big Macs. That’s, like, when you’re lucky, and then the rest of the stuff I consider kind of inedible.”

So unless he will bring his own takeouts (and it may be frawned upon by the "boss" who sees eating junk food as a bonding experience), he may not have a choice but grimace, peck on the food and endure. 😅

Sure - i do that occasionally too. But I draw a line with MC Donalds and especially Coke
:-)
