tsunami

I live pretty close to the ocean in australia, and i have had 2 extremely occuring vivid dreams of being in a tall skyscraper style building on the beachfront looking out to sea, and watching this Huge tsunami heading towards shoreline, atleast 100 meters in height, but i felt i was in a higher position then the wave in the building, almost expecting to be ok thinking the water will hit under me but i keep waking up before the huge wave hits shore,

Another reoccuring vivid dream is also one of the titanic, i keep seeing myself floating in the ocean not feeling anything pain wise but observing what i see is the titanic slowly sinking and beginning to raise at the rear of the ship, it is night time, i felt aware of the danger but was not scared in either events.

I had a lot of dreams last night after EE, involving a long discussion with a forum member, female around 50 years old (I don't know who) while I was injured, and she rolled me a cigarette :D. There was Turmoil, adventure and chaos in general.

But one thing that really stood out was the huge, violent tsunamis. The first one washed over an entire city, though it came from behind in my dream and I did not see it. I just remember being carried up by it and was somehow able to stand on a bridge and let it wash over me.

Then when me and a few companions were on the ground gathering ourselves, I had the thought that another tsunami was coming. Sure enough, I saw it in the distance, coming from inland this time. An enormous, destructive mass of brown foam at least 200ft high, covering the entire horizon and racing towards us. I tried to climb the bridge again but I was too late, and I thought it was finally time to face my death and there was no way out, absolutely terrified. Then somehow, once again, we all survived. I remember asking these companions how they survived when we got separated, and they also had no idea.

I have always been fascinated yet deadly afraid of tsunamis from a very early age. Perhaps it is how I 'went out' in a life long past, and will have to face one again soon :O

I also used to have repetitive dreams of being overcome by Tsunamis - they often came from the South (of England) and I thought this was because I was linking my fear of deep water with the beach hut my grandparents own on a beach near Southampton. I remember that I also used to survive, by swimming or floating - when I dream of being underwater, I am often 'surprised' to find that I can breathe.

Regarding the Australia Tsunami - on which coast do you live? I was reading about some Volcano activity in the north of New Zealand - would an explosive eruption possibly cause a Tsunami of some proportion?

Regarding Tsunamis travelling in opposite directions - wouldn't this occur if a large body was to crash into the ocean? The water displacement would cause overlapping Tsunamis travelling in opposite directions. I remember my husband describing the action to me, as he had been watching a video presented by one of these young physicists - it was interesting.
