According to a story in this weeks time magazine.

Here are some numbers:
The MOST admired countries:

Canada at 54%
Japan 54%
France 50%
Britain 45%
China 42%

Least admired countries:
Russia 40%
North Korea 48%
U.S. 51%
Iran 54%
ISRAEL 56%

The article (to which I don't have a link, only magazine text) also goes on to show whether the U.S. is viewed as a positive or negative influence in foreign countries. Only THREE supported the US:
Nigeria, Philippines & Kenya.

TWENTY others had the U.S as "not liked".

They didn't break down WHY the country isn't liked, but I'll bet the Iraq war, attempts to demonize Iran and support for Israel are reasons. This ties in with the anti-war protests too I think.

Yes, right now it's very popular to be anti-American, across the world, South America, Africa, Europe & Middle East. American foreign policy is obscene, and their non-compliance to the Kyoto Protocol is also playing a role, I'm sure.

I remember when I was small, the US was considered to be the land of milk and honey, the so-called beacon of the free world. I'm surprised about the Philippines though, they're often on the news burning American flags in protests...
