Don't know, looks like airplanes descending to the airport of a big city. Is there any big city with an airport close to this volcano?

No there are no airport near from that volcano, I live there and I was wonder what are those lights , in fact in one part of this video you can see how one light change their path when fall to the volcano. this camera is 3000 mts so there is not roads there and the lights far away are the Cartago city which is 45 Km far.

The near airport from that video is like 100km far away.

Thanks Windmill Knight,

It look like airplane following their flight path for landing. Some follow the same corridor turn approximately at the same place and altitude. Most landing one come from the left and the one rising go toward the right, look like airport traffic. The light on the ground look like a town illuminated at night, clouds make the light move.

100km is enough to see the city and the planes landing from the mountain. The city looks hidden by the clouds (we can see the movements of the clods in he night) and the planes follow each other. It's a matter of perspective i think.

Well let me say this:

1- The camera sight is west of the volcano you can see lights from Cartago which is a valley.
2- The airplanes land in Alajuela which is far from this valley and is about the north of this camera, so you can never see airplanes in that sight never because the traffic of the airport is 100 Km to the north out of this valley.

Its imposible that you can see airplanes in that sight the land of the airplanes is in opposite side of the camera, there are a lot of mountains around the volcano and the distance is too far.

In another hand how you can explain one light turn it path suddenly to another side!!!!

I have try to explain my self those lights and check distance and all the roads and airport near from the volcano, but have not explanation to those lights.

Is there a military airport in that area then. One thing that make me think of an airport is that the traffic (light) are seen in the evening, there is a pause close to midnight and it start again around 4:30 am. This is another characteristic of air traffic.

This is a time lapse movie that has been sped up by a factor of 60, so I would be careful with interpretations.

Costa Rica has no army nor any military airports. But unfortunately, they allowed over 40 American warships into their territory for "drug trafficking" surveillance.

Yes but those American are in the Limon port, Caribean Sea.

Near from the Turrialba Volcano there is not Airport.

Sorry if I wasn't clear. Time lapse means that the recording speed is very slow (like one frame per second). When you play it back, it seems to be very fast. In the video you can see the time index at the top. The minutes go by as fast as seconds. So this should be taken into account when interpreting the video.
