Don't know if it is widely recognised, but I wanted to share with you a picture from a booklet on Australian mythology. It is a painting on a piece of bark made by Australian Aborigines, depicting what they call as Wandjina – cosmic deities who in the Dreamtime had created the world. Their attributes are lightning, thunder and rain.
Unfortunately, I don't have any information about its age or which Australian museum it belongs to.
