UN Secretary will ask General Assembly to strip Israel of its Membership

I posted this on the main SOTT page tonight, and also wondered if anything would come of it.

It seems rather doubful to me; all that is needed to defeat it is for the US to veto the resolution, as US administrations have done in the past.

Also, what came into my mind is that this seems a rather 'hollow speech', rather like the words of Pope Benedict during his Israeli trip; spoken, but not really meant. After all, Ban Ki-Moon wouldn't have been made Secretary General of the UN unless he was willing to toe the PTB line.

No, I think this is just another example of the PTB trying to fool all of the people all of the time; an empty distraction, as it were. A sop thrown to the critics of Israel. Fwiw,
