Unable to post a reply

Jedi Master
Hello,

I just tried several times to post my reply on a thread, the first time I posted, the reply appeared on the thread, but it was completely blank, so I tried to modify it, and it just got stuck loading.

I logged out and tried to post again, but it got stuck once more. I don't know what's wrong, there must be a glitch or something...

Thanks,

Hi Novelis,

Other members have not reported similar problems. I see that it does appear blank in the post that you made here. Try clearing your cache and restart your browser and see if that helps.

Still no luck unfortunately, it is still getting stuck loading.

I'll try again some other time, it's dead late in this part of the world... This may seem farfetched, but might it get stuck because the post is too big (It is, after all, quite a long read...)?

Hi Novelis,

If the post is too long, you may have to split it into parts before posting. Try that and see if that works. If not, post it here and I'll transfer it to that blank post. :)

Hi I just lost a reply to 'An Open Letter' - Lisa's brave post. I finished and checked preview, then posted. Got the usual notification of other posts since being received, but lost the post somewhere. It didn't get posted. Silly me didn't take a copy. Is it is cyberspace somewhere or lost in eternity lol?

Unfortunately I think it is lost :( but hopefully the message is not lost for the eternity if you decide to write it again.

Whenever I get the notification that other posts have been posted, I immediately copy what I have written, because going away from the posting a reply box erases it. Once I've updated the thread, click reply and paste my previous post in and then post it.

Thank you that is what happened. I went to read the latest posts. So yep lost it that way. Thanks for the advice. Will make it a habit to copy first. :cool2:

This has happened to me a couple of times! :( What I finally decided to do is create my post in a Word document and then copy to the Board. I save the Word version until I know my post is up. Saves a lot of grief - it is sometimes hard to recreate thoughts, particularly if the post was a long one!

Yes, absoltutely Aleana. It was a long post and the original is always the best even if it could benefit from a bit of tweaking sometimes.

Just to let you know I am still having problems. Firstly all my editing/corrections that I made in preview did not happen. Also my first post still didn't go through but luckily I had copied to a word document so could repost - but unfortunately without the benefit of my corrections. I refer to my recent reply to SAO. Thanks

I was also not able to use the spell check function before posting a couple transcriptions for part 1 of the Barcelona Conference.
