Unofficial QFG Mirror and my contribution to the Computer Science Front

Hi all,

I'm working on a site to collect my personal initiatives and share some of them with others. Long time ago I was thinking on giving specific support to this group (QFG/SOTT). I take today the decision of evolving, changing non productive habits. A regular monthly donation is set and now I have in mind 2 issues:

Issue #1: I wish to have on my server a mirror for some content.

May this help to distribute, spread information, share infrastructure costs, or whatever it is.
For this, actions were taken past weekend. My sister is subscribed to this group Youtube videos (Knowledge and Being). She is able to download some of them into MP4 high resolution format. Something I appreciate a lot as I can check each of them in this format offline.
My Linux uses a Free Flash Version that “sometimes” runs Youtube format.
I uploaded all videos to my server. I'm willing to make them available.

Technically the server:
- is located in Spain,
- 100Mbits synchronous upload/download,
- 3 TByte transfer capacity per month (can be raised whenever necessary)
- Quad Core processor,
- 4GB of RAM,
- 1TB hard drive

It is a new acquisition this May 2010, plenty of room for hosting services.
I am the administrator and the one charged for the associated costs.

Issue #2: I wish to offer my services to this group.

I do work 8+ hours day so it's my spare time which I can use. It is very limited but I'm sure it is of some value.
I do love computer science engineering. This is what I do, this is what I do offer: as a consultant, assessment, admin, or whatever I can do.
If you decide to explore this offering please contact me to my personal email address. I can provide you detailed information about my profile and experience.

Finally some thoughts:
- I admit to all you that I am a board lurker, also an ex World-Of-Warcraft gamer, and a lot more.
- I do get trapped on my dreams, locked, lost, blocked. I travel a lot but never reach a destination, none.
- I consider myself valuable, but not on this group. I feel useless, not worth participating, just as a mere consumer.
I'm in the process of changing that radically. Hope this is the beginning of a new era, at least for my self.

See you nearby.

Many of us have followed similar paths before we got here - The first step is to 'see' it, and then to ask oneself, 'what do I do about it?'. I would say that the important thing, to push into this 'new era' for yourself, is to continue networking more, which will allow you to Work on yourself in ways you could not imagine- this can start to unlock your full potential to have 'something to give'. As you make progress, opportunities will open up that the universe naturally presents to you, appropriate to your own development, your own particular talents. It is an interaction, a 'dance' with creation that, if you sincerely give what you have, will provide what you need, to grow.

As for your offer of technological support, others may have further input, but again, I would say that, as you network and commit to the Work, opportunities will arise naturally appropriate to your level of involvement, understanding and commitment. We must all continue to keep our eyes open, to see what is being 'asked' of us by the universe each day, and then answer that call to the best of our ability, when we recognise it.
