US Winces as Haditha Echoes My Lai

What happened just after dawn on November 19 last year in Haditha, an insurgent stronghold in western Iraq, is really no longer in dispute.

US President George Bush pleaded with Americans this week to wait until the inquiries were finished before judging what happened on that autumn morning. But his body language suggested that he already knew that there had been a massacre of 24 civilians by US marines.

One part about that really grabbed my attention - Bush pleading with Americans to not judge or assume or jump to any conclusion until the proper investigation has been done? Did I hear that right!?

Now let's rewind to the morning of 911 - how come nobody pleaded with Americans not to jump to conclusions or assume anything about what happened until the proper "inquiries" and investigations? Oh wait, they actually tried to prevent inquiries on that day. Hmmmm... yeah if that's not proof of subjectivity and manipulation of public opinion...

Not that this is anything new, but it's just another datum in a huge pile of data that proves the deceptive and contradictory nature of our fearless leaders.
