Using the lie of 'Assads Chemical Attack' in Braindead TV Show

The Living Force
This TV show surprises viewers in the 8th episode by suddenly dropping a bomb in form of a spin on the mass media lie that Assad used chemical attack on his civilians, but spun further that it was used __in the US to kill US citizens__ in the TV-show's fictional universe. Further doing damage, still by reinforcing US media lie people heard on TV.
Braindead TV show episode 8, time [06:36]

Senate calling a witness to the stand, a phony terrorist, who is introducing himself and the crime he committed:
- Ahmed Kadhimiya [ambulance driver]. I'm a former freedom fighter in the Islamic Ra'id Front.
Senator:
- And, uh, could you tell us how you became a member of the Ra'id, and what you did for this terrorist organization?
Ahmed:
- Yes. My mother was killed in a drone attack. I had studied chemistry, so I helped the Ra'id create a new methane-based compound.
Senator:
- And what did this compound do?
Ahmed:
When injected under the skin, it would make a head explode. [This is unrelated as being TV-show main sci-fi plot]
Senator:
- Thank you, Mr. Kadhimiya. And you did this with the approval of the Syrian officials?
Ahmed:
- I did.

Even the viewers of the show know that Ahmed's confession is completely phony, because in the TV Shows fictional universe the aliens are making people heads explode, but the show creators HAD to include 'Assad used chemical weapon on civilians'-meme for some reason. Spoon feeding lies though entertainment channels it is further doing damage to the truth that the Syrian government and the Russian coalition represents.

Several TV Shows appear innocent and fun in their first couple of episodes then start dropping __Russia is evil bombs__ as a surprise attack on people's softened minds in mid season to complete the mind programming of the sheeple. Example: You, Me and the Apocalypse (TV Series 2015– )

I've been watching this show and I saw that you posted about it in the Stranger Things thread. I've been optimistic and in "wait and see" mode that despite some of the silliness and sci-fi tropes it might have a deep and hopeful message behind it. It's got some good actors and Ridley Scott is an executive producer (he also executive produced The Man In The High Castle adaptation that came out on Amazon last year) so there is some reason to be hopeful despite it being on U.S. broadcast network primetime (CBS Sundays). The "almost" torture episode before this last one did seem like it was trying to deliver a message about the outright immorality of torture along with ineffectiveness and likelihood of being performed on innocent victims.

The most recent episode on the whole I think portrayed the Syria situation as a hoax, as in even within the fictional universe of the characters, the situation was being "trumped up" for the benefit of the alien bugs. Maybe some people barely paying attention to the show (braindead themselves?) interpreted the hearing scene as negatively portraying the Syrian government, but the guy said he was working for the Rayidh (or however it's fictionally spelled) front, which seems to be a pretty thinly-veiled stan-in for ISIS. Ra'id or Rayidh, pronounced phonetically, if you just switch the vowels around isn't that Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia? Maybe they are actually trying to tread on dangerous and important ground with this show and they don't want to be too obvious about it. Maybe.

It looks like there are about 5 episodes left in the season so it will be interesting to see where it goes. The brain-eating bugs could certainly serve and an apt metaphor for psychopaths taking over!
