Very Sick Frog Song- in January :-0

Guardian

The Cosmic Force
The Frogs are awake, in JANUARY, and they're croaking sounds very, VERY wrong! They almost sound more like ducks than frogs?

Their song is so creepy I can't even go to sleep.

Middle to late March, I'm EXTREMELY worried about them. It's 56 degrees right now, it should be in the 20-30's

Yes I see, 6 plus weeks early and too warm. Will keep watching for updates Guardian; not the norm at all. :(

Just reading a bit here:

Some may even enter states of deep sleep for parts of the year when the weather is too cold or too dry.

Maybe they will do ok Guardian; they can weather this. :/

Thanks for the link. :flowers:

I hope so, they sound so sick, their rhythms are wrong too, not just the tone of their voices.

The sound could be just because they "woke up" too early and everything is out of synch with their systems vis a vis duration of daylight, EM signatures, temperature, etc. They sound sleepy.

Of course, frogs are very symbolic of transformation/metamorphosis. We almost never heard any frogs in our pond (probably because it is so polluted from field run-off) until the night my mother died. They were so loud at that moment, they woke me up. And there were lots of them when we had only ever heard like one once in awhile. That's actually kinda funny because my mother was afraid of frogs - like seriously. So for frogs to announce her passing and arrival at my house (she hung around for a bit) was very amusing. She would have appreciated it.

Yeah, sounds to me like the poor little guys are groggy because they were woken up too early. But froggies can be pretty resilient, so hopefully they'll be okay.

As much as I don't like frogs (my grandma was phobic, and I must have picked it up from her), they certainly are super animals. Knowing that they can be "predictors" of earthquakes and probably other changes in the Earth, it's good you are keeping an eye. They could simply be puzzled with all the crazy stuff going on in the planet, or an omen of something else.

Of course, scientists and government will always deny their importance, like they did in the 2008 earthquake in China. It could have saved a lot of lives...

Yeah me too. I realized after I uploaded the recording that most of yawl don't have a frame of reference for what our regional frogs should sound like. Sorry, I've never recorded them while they were normal. All I can do is tell you how GROSSLY different they sound now, much higher pitch with an almost breathless quality.

I've known the frogs to wake up in the middle of winter before, when we had a brief warm spell, which happens from time to time. It's their song that's totally different this time. The rain smells wrong too, so that might have something to do with it?

Are any other animals acting strangely?

None of the pets are, but I haven't been on walkies yet today, so I don't know about the wild ones yet. I'll let you know later.

Can it be related to the recent solar eruption? They might be sensitive to electric currents in the ground.

They definitely sound more like ducks and chickens rather than frogs. This winter has been unusually mild and warm, i ain't complaining, but it is really weird, there are still insects flying around and just yesterday i saw a bee buzzing around a tree. Even green grass has sprouted on the front lawn, and is steadily growing.

Some birds have been heading north, while some geese have been heading south rather late in the season, SOTT.
