On youtube there are many variations of stirling/ericsson engines, some are really works of art.
But definitely NOT free energy as claimed in the OP.

Yes, it would work. However the Peltier chip + motor is a plug-and-play solution taking advantage of mass-produced devices made very cheaply due to high demand. A complex machined solution like that could go into the hundreds of dollars.

I can't see any trickery involved. Not impossible, but seemingly very unlikely.
