Water & Light Experiment

This video I made by using a speaker having a small container with water on it. It seems like there is a specific angle from which light can be visible through this kinds of patterns. So I use frequencies from 2-30 hz.
Enjoy!

I like the dynamics captured by water. Most use sand and metal plates for a reason. Sand just bounces around finding the non-vibrating nodes to rest in, truly representing the nodes of the plate. But water participates by bringing its own molecular cohesion and wave properties (mostly surface, but sound waves can travel longitudinally).

I have one more demo like the other one, but here i used stop-motion photography. This looks really weird at one point.

Thank you for sharing. I found very evocative the cycles of spheres that seem to emerge. I do not know anything about it, but if you change the frequencies then changes the patterns?

Yes, it depends from frequency to frequency. But there is also combinations between frequencies - Like for exmaple: 21 hz, 8hz and 3hz. They combine and there is a new result. And so on.

Search "Cymatics", both on this site and others.
Thanks to you too, Dant! It's an interesting topic.
