In the night on 31-July at about 11:30 pm we were driving home from our holiday in Greece. At that time we have just passed the capital Skopje and we had just about 60 more kilometers to home. In the distance on the opposite line, I saw a lot of cars and a police I thought that it's some traffic accident. I slowed down and I saw a lot of people and cars and as soon as we pass them my wife said that there is something strange there, that there was no smashed car and she thought that maybe it's not a classic traffic accident but maybe somebody died on the road, or collapsed or something like that.
So we came home that night and next morning the news reported that bear was hit by 2 vehicles near Skopje. I couldn't believe. The area has some hills and there are not very high mountains near that road or some forest where bears usually live.Bear was hit by a minibus and by a car. Nobody was seriously hurt except that the bear was killed in the accident.
While talking about that with my wife I said that something is not right there and that the bear was chased, frightened or very hungry so she came in a highly populated place, on the road that was full of running vehicles in that time.
One week after that the huge storm happens at that area where more that 20 people died in a huge flood.
When I try to connect the dots now, I'm thinking if the bear has felt something and she was trying to run, to escape.
Just across the hill near the road , there is a NATO base, and a bear was hit by a car on the near freeway. Maybe another symbolism from this.
It was , and it still is so strange for bear to appear in that place, that makes me think of all possibilities
