Welcome to Hebron

The Force is Strong With This One
Hi!

Have any of you seen this documentary? I think it’s really worth watching. I’ve read lots of articles about the way in which Israelis treat Palestinians, nevertheless, it was a real shock for me to watch what is really happening there. It was always hard for me to believe that Israeli settlers and soldiers can behave so aggressively as it is sometimes depicted, but what this film shows surpassed my worst expectations. I was more than shocked while watching three, four or five years old Jewish children standing on the roof of one of the buildings in Hebron and throwing down stones at Palestinians – it was a fun for them and even more than that – it is daily practice to both Jewish children and adults to throw stones at Palestinians, who, as I think, get used to it, it seems that it became normal for some of Palestinians to be attacked every day.

One Palestinian girl who lives near to settlers and was attacked by them many times tried even to justify Jews and she told that it is them – Israelis - who live in a prison, while it was she who had to have gratings on windows because of the stones, bottles and other presents form her Jewish friends! Can you imagine? - little Jewish children running along the street like gremlins from some horror movie, holding stones in their palms and shouting out swearwords against Palestinians… but it is really happening. It remindes me of the Memoirs of a Survivor by Doris Lessing http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Memoirs_of_a_Survivor . There where some children living in the undergrounds of the city who were very aggressive, crude and dangerous but they were raising there without parents so no wonder that they lived like animals + it was a fiction! When Cs’ said that there is so high percentage of psychopaths in Israel I thought that maybe they overestimated a little but after watching this movie I’m not surprised any longer.

It is available on DVDs but I watched it on the Polish Planete channel so if there are any Poles who would like to watch it - be on the lookout for it.
