My mom broke a thermometer.What happens if you get powdered mercury in an open wound (fresh from surgery?) it's very difficolut to take it... thank you

Just a minor point ermete

If your Mom broke a mercury thermometer, it is more likely that it contained liquid mercury rather than powdered mercury.
 
you right. Small liquid balls. Read on internet tha is not dangerous (it's a small quantity). To take it from the floor (very difficoult) i use Scotch tape.
 
Sorry for the late reply! but What it should be made when mercury spills in a surface is to take some sulfur powder and put over the spilled area, let one hour rest and sweep with a broom and discard.
