What motivates us

Hi All! :-)
If such a thread already exists then I apologise but I couldn't find it, in which case this thread will be up for deletion.
Through recent events I've been reflecting on what motivates me and what I should focus on that is important, such a bit of a reminder of my values thanks to this forum amongst others. I thought that each of us when we welcome each other here and later when we post our insights write about our views but overall I don't think there was a topic where we collected the views of forum members in short statements. Since we are the vanguard of the future maybe by collecting our experiences it will be easier for us to define what are the "common goals" of the vanguard :-) Can we assume that the message can be as long as we like, but that at the end of it there should be five points with things important to us, their order arbitrary. I will try to start with myself:

This year I spent six months in hospital and recovering from sepsis, a coma and acute pneumonia. It made me rethink a bit about myself, my family, my surroundings and my future. The people around me were really supportive and at critical moments someone always came up with an idea that saved my life e.g. finding the right doctor when I was in a coma or transporting me to the right hospital etc. In addition, although I don't earn a lot of money in my current job, my employers were very concerned about my accident and tried to help in whatever they could. It all boiled down to thinking that I was no one special from various perspectives whether material or social and yet I received so much support from many people who I thought were treating me indifferently, like just another person They met in life. Now with the passing of Pierr I have started to wonder what everyone's role is and whether our simple daily lives are the right lives. Defining values was and is probably quite an important thing for me in all of this. So far the 5 sub-points from my perspective are:

1.Love and people (staying fully alert etc. but yet leaning on goodness towards people/love and receiving goodness/love from others)
2.My wife and my loved ones (wonderful people in my life who have helped me when I needed it and I would also like to help them when they need it).
3.Walking the right path (trying to find the best possible path that will lead to the best possible future for myself and others)
4. finding meaning in the fact that everything has already been and will be (It may be a strange description but, for example, looking at this month, supposedly interesting and ground-breaking but in fact more conflicts and wars, this is nothing new, conspiracies, plotting etc. but still there is a meaning in all this if we see some future goal e.g. in the form of 4D)
5. personal and material development (choosing the right profession, hobbies, exercise, etc.). Often this sub-point in everyday life is the most important because it directly interacts with matter, as far as I am concerned)

Hello Kmicic,

So... what you are describing is a turning point after receiving the care you needed for your health issues. You reflected with much gratitude and intrigue of how you fit into all of this and what points are intrinsic to propel you forward. You've also wanted to see the viewpoints of others on what keeps us going on this journey.

Sure, I'll chime in.

1. I believe wholeheartedly that everything we do matters because we're creatures of meaning and look for significance in our purpose.

2. Family and community are of course integral to a fruitful life as it adds to our being.

3. Being strong, capable, and useful to the society and community that we choose to belong to is important. Knowledge and growth, prosperity and harmony, adding or contributing to the world in a passionate way.

4. Expression of our intelligence and love. That could be in the form of many things that we're capable of creating or giving our efforts to.

5. A sharp awareness of us as conscious beings and what reality entails. No one here wants to be asleep in the "matrix". (For me personally, if people are of this mentality already then great, if not I have no desire to force it upon them with respect to free will. For example, your own family members are either oblivious or disinterested in the signs of our times etc.)

Those are very good points to keep in mind and heart, Kmicic, thank you for sharing them.

I thought about what motivates me and what I came up with is: To be the best person I can be, learn my lessons in this lifetime and hopefully be a positive influence in other people's lives.
