Whatever Works

The Living Force
Ok, with all of this about aliens here there, explosions, blood hell yeah bullets, etc. I was looking for some movie about romance I found sex and other drugs or whatever, and other movies about sex again. I was looking something different, with that fresh touch, maybe the movie it's not what I said, but it's like having a breath.

Now the stars of this movie are Larry David (Boris) and Evan Rachel (Melody) that works on True Blood series. Directed by the good one Woody Allen.

It talks about some old guy that I liked because I have imagined myself being that oldie if some circunstances have not arisen in my life, but the interesting part is that this oldie is like some social critic that whenever he could, he throws his critics to the people about religion, races, god, his ex-wife, so only the ones that may resist him, like his old best friends or whatever, keep contacting him. But then he meets just the opposite being that he is, Melody (what a pretty girl), he meets a silly and young girl that is so optimistic and so innocent, that makes him crazy because he's half Dr. House or worst, that will say how stupid she is (in a humorous way for me), but she doesn't care she accept him as his grandpa.

So at the end they got to be friends, and guess what??? they marry each other.

So if you like sarcasm you will enjoy Boris knowing this is just a movie so you may analyze it, and its about romance (out of rules indeed!!) and it has some dry humour.

It hasn't the secrets of universe but if you have time to watch a movie, I recommend you this one.

Yep I had the same idea. I am getting the sense that the PTB want us to think that the nihilistic view of the world is the superior one. I say this because in both House MD and this movie the protagonists are projected as intelligent and experienced people who have seen the world, and they seem to "get it." I don't know but I think impressionable/vulnerable people are bound to adopt this type of nihilism/cynicism as their own world-view. I think Harrison described the whole conundrum really well in his article. David Ray Griffin, quoted in the article, had said that the prevailing mode of 'rationality' can described as sensationalist-atheist-materialist naturalism. Being exposed to this type of thinking projected in these shows gives me a "devitalising" sort of feeling. They are still entertaining nonetheless, but I always keep my guard up.
