SoTT RSS feed not working

I've been trying to load your RSS feed but am having a bit of trouble. Do you know what could possibly be wrong? Thanks!

SoTT RSS feed not working

I just loaded it right now, and it seems to be working okay. What exactly is the problem/error?

SoTT RSS feed not working

When I try to load it on my website, it does not work properly. I also used this website:

http://slashdemocracy.org/xml/feed2js/build.php?src=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.signs-of-the-times.org%2Fxml_dump%2Fsigns_feed&generate=Generate+JavaScript&chan=title&num=3&desc=100&html=n&date=n&tz=feed&targ=y&rss_box_id=1234

to validate the feed and it says this feed is not working properly. The main problem is that the links load, but they do not link to anything! If you try to click on the stories, they do not direct you to the stories on SoTT webpage. I'm positive that it has something to do with your end. Thanks!

Please Fix RSS feed!

I don't mean to be a pest, but it has been a month since someone has replied to my message about fixing your RSS feeds...so I figured I would try again.

The RSS feeds load properly, but the links to the stories don't work. When you click the link, it just refreshes the page that the RSS feeds are on. Like this:

http://slashdemocracy.org/xml/feed2js/build.php?src=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.signs-of-the-times.org%2Fxml_dump%2Fsigns_feed&generate=Generate+JavaScript&chan=n&num=10&desc=150&html=n&date=y&tz=feed&targ=y&rss_box_id=1234

Thank you! Take Care!

The feed validates fine:
http://validator.w3.org/feed/check.cgi?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.signs-of-the-times.org%2Fxml_dump%2Fsigns_feed

Also I checked the RSS feed in Firefox 2.0 on Windows and when I click on a link they go to the story.

I did see the problem you describe of links not leading to anything when the preview feed feature is used on the page of the link you provided above. The issue seems to be with feed2js and not the sott page.

Can you point to your website, so somebody can take a look at the source code to figure out why it wouldn't be working.
You may want to try feedburner to get a javascript that you can embed in your webpage. I have successfully used their service in the past.

Fwiwm, the RSS works absolutely fine for me. Using Firefox Rss Reader extension

It works fine when you load it with an extension, but it does not work when you try loading it on a website. If you click the link above, you will see what I am talking about. The stories load properly, but the links to the stories do not.

Thanks.

I know this is not an issue with feed2js because sott's RSS feed is the only one that I have problems loading. All the other alternative news websites' RSS feeds work perfectly fine. In fact, if you try any other javascript builder, the sott's feed still does not work. It loads the stories fine, but the links to the stories do not work properly.

Thanks again. I hope this small problem is fixed soon! Take care.

SoTT RSS feed not working

Ok, I figured it out!

I had to first install Sage on FireFox v2.0 and then
copy the SOTT RSS link and paste it to the Sage panel.

It worked for me!

NOTE: I tried the validator and it did report problems:

Please Fix RSS Feeds!!! (last post, I promise)

So....I promise this is the last post I'll ever make about SoTT's RSS feeds, but you guys have yet to fix it. Personally, I think it is really important that you do so that people can spread your information as far and as wide as possible.

I am trying to do this with a website that I am working on. Please check it out here:

http://www.sprword.com/nonmainstream.html

If you click on the stories to the other news sites, the stories load fine. If you click on the SoTT stories, it just reloads the same page. This is the problem that I have been referring to.

Sorry to be a pain, but persistence is key! Sprword.com has not officially been launched yet, so if you do not want to be one of the "non-mainstream news", please let me know.

Take care and thanks for all that you do!!! =)

I'm not sure what the problem is. If you go here:

http://validator.w3.org/feed/check.cgi?url=http://signs-of-the-times.org/xml_dump/signs_feed

It validates just fine. It's an ATOM 1.0 feed. If you are using some kind of "feed plugin" or script to pull our feed into your web page, then we can't guarantee it's going to work, because we didn't program the plugin/script and have no idea what it might be doing wrong - or why it thinks our feed is doing something wrong. But our feed works fine in Firefox, Omea Reader, FeedDemon, and various other stand-alone feed readers I've tried, in addition to validated properly.

So, I'm not sure what to tell you. You could write your own XML parser. It's a pretty simple and standard file layout to parse.

The problem might be that the feed does not have a .xml extension.
I really don't see what else could be causing this. Obviously the fault is with whatever these javascript routines do with the filename and I'm thinking they are just not robust enough.

The RSS feed has stopped working

at least for me.

Edit. Um, "mystically" its working again. (or at least on a different computer).

Gremlins I guess.

Category Specific RSS Feed

Hi, I was just wondering if SOTT.net had category specific RSS feeds? The reason being is that I want to promote the SOTT.net site via Twitter using the RSS feed but not all categories are appropriate for my audience.
