Two dreams on the 11th Oct 08

1st Dream: I watched with trebidation as an aircraft taxied towards the runway about to take off. I "knew" it was going to crash. At the time, I was sitting as a passenger, in another aircraft, some distance from the runway. The one I "knew" was going to crash took off, but it didn't crash! So then it was our turn. We were heavily laden and running out of runway, when the thought came to me: "Well, it looks like my aircraft is going to crash! Typical!" I thought, "Just what I need, to be burnt to a crisp by an aircraft fully laden with fuel. Just my luck, horrible." At that moment an older guy who looked like a crop-duster of some sort (what do they 'look' like anyway?), took the controls and started steering our aircraft, at speed, off the runway and through a break in the trees. He managed to get it airborne and only just missed a line of trees at the end of the runway. This guy really knew how to fly and flew by the "seat of his pants". He reminded me of that war veteran (crop duster) in the movie Independence Day, except he was slightly younger.

2nd Dream: A group of us was watching an Australian Rules football match that looked like it was being played on a hockey field (rather than an oval). With me, was the coach of a rugby league team and one of the players. At that moment, I looked up and backwards towards a hill and saw something really quite odd. A game of rugby league was happening, but the players were levetated, so they were playing 3 dimensional rugby league. I was shocked  I asked the coach how long had this been going on? He said it had been going on for years and that they had played like that for ages. I looked again and I saw the strangest site. A bloke dressed as an Arab, on a camel also levitated. He wasn't running, though and they both appeared to be standing still. He looked like he was part of the "game". "What's he doing there?" I asked. "Oh," said the coach, "We're trialing the camel and the "arab" out for the position of goalie".

I was really annoyed, because I thought I should have learned at some stage how to get around like that (levitated). The coach said it had been going on for years and that the player standing next to me had even taught his sister- in- law (Claire) how to do it. I was annoyed because it seemed like a lot of 'right place at the right time' things were going on, and I was always missing out and didn't even know about it.

Anyway, that's when I woke up. As I was recalling the dreams I had, I thought to myself "Don't you ever get the feeling like you're watching the wrong 'game"? Besides, everybody knows that they don't have a goalie in rugby league! :)

Hey Ruth

Fascinating dreams, I know you've not asked for input on them but I'd love to know what they may mean, so thought I'd add some of my thoughts.
Planes crashing reminds me of other threads on the forum about 'things' crashing (like the economy).
I tend to go with the view (when it comes to dreams) that mostly they represent elements of self, so I wonder if the first plane was the economy at large or perhaps someone you know?
To then be your plane that's about to crash, perhaps a pessimistic programme? The pilot that took over at the last minute and steered you off the obvious course to safety was fascinating. An 'i' who knows how to 'fly you to safety'?

Taking the same analogy of I's, perhaps the 3d rugby team is simply the internal struggle. The rules and pitch are completely different to what you had always thought them to be, not to mention the interaction of all the I's. I know different parts of myself tend to catch me unawares sometimes, if your thinking 2d but there working 3d, that would give an explanation as to why.
The feeling of missing out, and the thought of watching 'the wrong game' makes me think that perhaps the idea of what the 'game' should be like is changing, but your still buying into it (at least a little). I'm pretty sure your taking part in the 3d rugby though, even if you where convinced to watch the 'idea of standard rugby'.
If that analogies too vague let me know! lol

Just some musings
