Will the US succeed in aquiring Greenland?

Recently, I met three people who live in Greenland.

I would like to go visit them in March/April/May.

Is it wise to travel there? Will the US seize/take-over Greenland?

Not anytime soon. And if it happens, it's more likely to be a simple affair, no one should expect a large military invasion or anything of that sort.

Even if the USA were to invade Greenland, you would still be far safer there than in Miami or Los Angeles.

It is an island with only about 50,000 inhabitants and no widespread military weapons. But there are many hunting guns, though.

If you are worried about going to Greenland and waking up in a Palestine-like situation, worry not: in that regard, you are 100% safe.

If the United States invaded Greenland and you were there, what you would experience would be basically what happened when the UK invaded Iceland in 1940:

Military ships arriving, soldiers coming ashore, and plenty of complaints—but no shootings.
