Yeah, I've been hearing a lot about this from folks lately.
I can't see this starting any widespread insurrection though. I've heard a mixed bag of reactions in the small town where I live. It seems people are mostly split based on political affiliation - which is typical in these cases.
I think this whole incident says more about Walker than anything. His remarks about bringing in the National Guard were completely uncalled for and really off-base with the reality of the situation. He very much carries a us-vs-them mentality and harbors excessive paranoia towards left-leaning groups. The typical psychopath politician, I guess.
Anyways, it will be interesting to see how this unfolds...
Interesting video of 13,000 protestors in the capital.
Over 13,000 angry union supporters gathered at the capital building in Madison, Wisconsin for a 17-hour public hearing on the issue. The protestors are calling for opposition to the bill, and an end to Walker's governorship as a whole.
Wisconsin: Update: Law enforcement sent to bring Democrats back to session
Senate Majority leader Scott Fitzgerald tells 27 News they need one Democrat to come back to vote on a bill that would take collective bargaining rights away from most public state employees.
Fitzgerald says he doesn't know where the Democrats are. Fitzgerald says they've sent law enforcement to bring the Democrats back to the session. They're issuing a "call of house."
