Al Zawahri also appeared on Dec. 7 2005 in an internet video

Al-Qaeda's deputy leader Ayman al-Zawahri says the U.S. Army had been hit hard in Iraq and urges Pakistanis to topple their president, whom he calls a "bribe-taking, treacherous criminal," according to a video, the third taped message so far this year from the Egyptian-born doctor, first obtained by IntelCenter, a U.S. contractor, and released Friday on an internet site.

In his 15-minute speech titled "A Message to the People of Pakistan," Osama bin Laden's top lieutenant referred to the three-year anniversary of the U.S. war on Iraq.

Al Zawahri also denounced the leaders of Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Iraq as "traitors" and called on Muslims to rise up to "confront them."

"Three years after the Crusader invasion of Iraq, America, Britain and their allies have achieved nothing but losses, disaster and misfortunes," Al Zawahri said in his tape, which came just a few days after the release of a new audio message by Al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden in which he focused on what he continually referred to as "a Zionist-crusader war on Islam".

Al Zawahri, who called President Pervez Musharraf a "traitor" who put the country's nuclear program under the supervision of Washington, called on the Pakistani people to stand up against "the Zionist-Crusader assault" on Muslims and overthrow their leader.

"I call on them to strive in earnest to topple this bribe-taking, treacherous criminal," al-Zawahri said, referring to the Pakistani President.

In his speech, Bin Laden cited examples that show the Islamic world is under attack, ranging from the creation of Israel to killing Muslims in Palestine, Bosnia, Kashmir and Chechnya.

Bin Laden stressed that defeating America in Iraq would end the attacks against Muslims.

"The axis and the mill of this war is located in Baghdad ... and they say over and over again that success in Baghdad is success for America and that their failure in Baghdad is failure for America," he said.

The U.S. claims that Al Qaeda's Bin Laden and Al Zawahri are hiding in the mountainous region along the border of Afghanistan and Pakistan.
