Zero Dark Thirty

Fwiw, I not only would not ever pay to see it, I wouldn't want to waste two hours of my life on watching it even if it was free to sit through it.

Same here. You took the words right out of my mouth Nuke.

I am 100% in agreement!! I cannot wait for this movie to go away - and unfortunately it may be a long while as the PTB are obviously pushing this. They have been showing the movie trailer to the point of exasperation at EVERY movie I have seen - and you cannot even escape from it at the indie theaters. What also has amazed and disapointed me is how many people are taken in by this and eager to see it.

An article from today's SOTT also provides plenty of food for thought regarding one of the purposes behind the making of the film - http://www.sott.net/article/256410-Rebranding-the-War-on-Terror-for-the-age-of-Obama-Zero-Dark-Thirty-and-the-promotion-of-extra-judicial-killing

Thanks Dylan and Mrs. Tigersoap for the links. The globalresearch article is basically what I had in mind and does a good job of picking it apart.

If Academy Award members are boycotting the movie then I suppose the idea that one of them might be willing to lend out their screener copy to aid in negative criticism of the movie would not be outside the realm of possibility. Not that it matters, but I understand the desire not to contribute one penny toward the system that created this atrocity.

I completely understand the visceral negative reactions to the existence of this movie and the desire not to see it at all, and I don't disagree. There was bound to be some discussion of it here anyway, but my point in starting this thread is that sometimes to be in service to Truth, criticism and dissection of lies is necessary. Nothing new here. To people you may come across who may want to see or even saw and say they enjoyed this movie, it's easy enough to say, "The official story of 9/11 and the "death" of Osama bin Laden are lies, and so is that movie." At least if you are willing to say those sorts of things. But it's not likely to go very far with them. The globalresearch piece never comes right out and says those things, although they are likely the positions of its author, but it picks apart ZDT even using assumptions of the official story and mainstream news.

I want Zero Dark Thirty to go away as soon as possible, but while it's here it would be nice to have more armor against it than just saying, "Wake up, sheeple!"

addendum: Thanks Heimdallr! more stuff

The author of this article actually starts by suggesting how much he liked the effects of the movie and enjoyed the storytelling. But, when he wakes up from the hollywood induced high, he realizes that the cost of the message inherent in the movie, the ends (Osama) justify the means (torture), is the humanity of an entire country.

As the author points out, how will this movie be received by people in, say, Saudi Arabia?
