Putin Recognizes Donbass Republics, Sends Russian Military to 'Denazify' Ukraine

What would that sword be? I pray to Cosmic Mind that it is the truth.
A comet or comets comes to mind. I'd have to re-review Laura's 'Comets and the Horns of Moses', but comets and the various descriptions like dragons, swords, etc might have been discussed there. Or it might have been in another of her books or Pierre's first book...

So what is Poland planning to do? Attack Belarus? Incorporate Grodno into Poland?

Probably not officially. Seems to me this is the media version of a tentative plan by the US/EU to put troops into Western Ukraine to 'hold' it in advance of the expected Russian expropriation of about 1/3 of Ukraine (Eastern part) including all territory along the Black Sea. Russia's operation in this respect will likely take a few more months.

That's certainly possible, and in which case, they will never know what hit them, unless they learn 5th -> 4th density.

American missile bases in Canada's high Arctic? Canada's previous missile treaty has not changed, thank DCM, but the fact that it's been called into question is not a great sign for Canada. Russia has hypersonic missiles that can beat defence systems anyway so what's the point of going through with it? Canada would just be inviting trouble like Finland and Sweden are doing by trying to get into NATO. This is a really dumb idea.

US may get missile defense partner

The Canadian defense minister suggests Ottawa could change course and join the US ballistic missile defense program

May 11, 2022

Canada is exploring the possibility of joining the US ballistic missile defense program, nearly 20 years after a previous Liberal government chose otherwise, Defense Minister Anita Anand said at a conference on Tuesday. The option is part of a comprehensive defense review aiming to address new threats such as hypersonic missiles, she said.

“We are taking a very bold and aggressive look at what we need to do for the defense of the North American continent,” Anand said in a speech at the Canadian Global Affairs Institute in Ottawa. “We are leaving no stone unturned in this major review of continental defense,” she added.

Asked about the missile defense program, Anand said that Ottawa is “certainly taking a full and comprehensive look at that question as well as what it takes to defend the continent across the board.”

When Politico reached out to the Canadian government for comment, a senior official said that Ottawa has not changed its missile defense policy, however. In 2005, Liberal PM Paul Martin announced that Ottawa would not take part in the US missile defense initiative started by then-President George W. Bush, after abrogating the anti-ballistic missile (ABM) treaty with Russia in 2002.

Anand admitted that the world “appears to be growing darker,” and Canada’s geographic position “no longer provides the same protection that it once did.” From hypersonic weapons and cyberattacks to great power competition, it is a different place from when Canada’s current defense policy – distilled to the slogan ‘Strong, Secure, Engaged’ – was formulated in 2017.

However, she said Ottawa intends to continue following that policy when it comes to equipping its armed forces. Anand pointed out that three out of the six Arctic patrol ships commissioned under the plan have already been delivered, and that Canada announced in March that it would buy 88 of Lockheed Martin’s F-35 jets from the US.

Canada’s armed forces will also increase their presence on the world stage, especially in the Pacific, Anand promised.

Her comments come shortly after PM Justin Trudeau visited Kiev and promised Can$500 million in military aid to Ukraine. Asked what that money would be spent on, Anand said Canada will work with the US and other allies “to make meaningful investments” on things that the Ukrainian military “can use to fight and win the war.”

Is it faster to fly from Russia to Canada by going over the North Pole?

'A justification for deploying US troops to Ukraine.'

US intelligence estimates Russia’s plans for Ukraine

10 May, 2022
America’s spy agencies reckon Vladimir Putin is preparing for a “prolonged” conflict, and wants to seize territory

Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines told Congress on Tuesday that, in the view of the US’ spy agencies, Russian President Vladimir Putin was gearing up for a “prolonged” conflict in Ukraine, and was looking to establish control of Ukraine’s southern coast, from the Donbass in the east to Transnistria in the west.

“We assess President Putin is preparing for a prolonged conflict in Ukraine during which he still intends to achieve goals beyond the Donbass,” Haines told a hearing of the Senate Armed Services Committee.

Haines explained that according to her “indications,” Putin is seeking to extend Russian control from the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics – which collectively make up the Donbass region – along Ukraine’s Black Sea coast to the breakaway province of Transnistria on the Moldovan border.

Doing so would be a major strategic win for Russia, and would leave Ukraine landlocked. However, Russia’s objectives in this regard are unclear. Upon sending troops into Ukraine in February, Putin stated that Russia’s military operation was intended to “demilitarize” Ukraine, to “denazify” its leadership, and to protect the Russian-speaking population of the Donbass republics, who have lived under legal and military persecution since 2014. Putin did not state any clear territorial end goals in Ukraine.

To take land up to Transnistria, according to the US’ spy chiefs, Putin would need to declare a full mobilization and call up additional troops, something that has not happened yet. However, with fighting raging along the borders of the Donbass republics and Ukrainian territory, Haines said that Russia’s currently deployed forces would likely try to “crush the most capable and well-equipped Ukrainian forces fighting to hold the line in the east” in the “near term.”

While the US and its NATO allies have poured billions of dollars worth of weapons into Ukraine in a bid to slow this advance, Haines claimed that “Putin most likely also judges that Russia has a greater ability and willingness to endure challenges than his adversaries,” and that “he is probably counting on US and EU resolve to weaken as food shortages, inflation and energy prices get worse.”

Notably, while the EU and US have been rocked by soaring inflation and record gas prices, the White House has until now insisted that Americans will not experience food shortages. Haines’ statement marks the first time that a US official has acknowledged that this may be a reality.

Haines also referred to the situation in Ukraine as Russia’s “military conflict with Ukraine and the West,” an apparent acknowledgment of the US’ role as a participant. In the eyes of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, the West is already “essentially going to war with Russia through a proxy” due to its sharing of arms and intelligence with Kiev.

The Biden administration and lawmakers from both parties have resolved to continue bankrolling Kiev’s military. Congress on Monday reached a deal to send nearly $40 billion in military and other aid to Ukraine, nearly $7 billion more than Biden asked for last week, and Biden on Monday signed the Lend-Lease Act of 2022, removing legal limits on the quantity of arms Washington can send to Kiev.

Haines told the Senate that Putin would likely seek to intercept weapons shipments from the US in the “coming weeks.” Russian forces have already destroyed numerous warehouses and stockpiles of foreign-supplied arms, and Moscow has stated that these weapons, as well as convoys transporting them within Ukraine’s borders, constitute “legitimate targets.”

“Both Russia and Ukraine believe they can continue to make progress militarily,”
Haines said, adding: “We do not see a viable negotiating path forward, at least in the short term.”

Indian scammers have come up with a new scheme. They present themselves as Putin and for $40 (3,000 roubles) they even offer to take a selfie to confirm their identity.
"I am Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia. I was kidnapped and in my place in Russia they use a look-alike. He started the war, not me. I managed to escape, I am in your country now. Can you give me 3000 rupees so I can go home and stop the war? This is really me. Will you take a picture?"

'A justification for deploying US troops to Ukraine.'
They'd probably use a different narrative. Even if Russia does plan to expropriate at least the area formerly known as southern Ukraine, I think any direct US involvement would likely hinge on military confrontation between Poland and Russia, due to Poland's NATO status. Note the following:

Notably, while the EU and US have been rocked by soaring inflation and record gas prices, the White House has until now insisted that Americans will not experience food shortages. Haines’ statement marks the first time that a US official has acknowledged that this may be a reality.
This indicates that their highest probability scenarios include a context of severe economic turmoil within the US. Direct military confrontation with an opponent able to inflict heavy casualties on US forces, and thus shatter the image of US 'invincibility' that the deep state relies so much upon in order to sell their wars to the US public, is probably not something that they want to encourage in this scenario. Remember, Ukraine is ultimately expendable to the US. I think it's likely that further military build up will occur in Eastern Europe in order to enrich the MIC, but that's unlikely to translate into direct confrontation between the US and Russia - at least until west Ukraine has been occupied by Poland, which kind of weakens the "annexation" narrative. But I'm sure they'll come up with another one, should they become unhinged enough.

According to thesaker.is and a few other (some slightly more hyperbolic) sites: Kiev cites ‘force majeure’ in Lugansk to halt third of gas flow to Europe, while Gazprom says there have been no issues that would justify the halt. This is just too ‘delicious’ not to sitrep quickly – Ukraine calls force majeure and halts 1/3 of European gas | The Vineyard of the Saker

According to the Saker: "Russian gas conglomerate Gazprom has received no confirmation of force majeure or any obstacles to continued transit of gas through a junction in Lugansk, the company said on Tuesday, after Ukraine’s operator OGTSU announced it would halt further deliveries starting May 11, due to the presence of “Russian occupiers.” Eurasia & Multipolarity RT is still reporting, but here it is: https://www.rt.com/russia/555265-gazprom-gas-ukraine-europe/ Be aware this is up to the minute, so details may change. (But is it too early to say … the Ukraine is sanctioning Europe?)"

It's all very vague and has remained vague since yesterday.

Festive events took place in Kherson yesterday, on the occasion of Victory Day. This was the first time in the last few years. I must say that this is not a military parade, as in many Russian cities, but a procession of the "immortal regiment", i.e. civilians. How important it was for the ukrofascists to disrupt this event can be judged by the fact that 8! tochka-u missiles were shot down on the approach to the city. Thank God the air defense forces did their best.

It is necessary to make an amendment. I wrote about the "Tochka-u", but it turned out to be a "Uragan". The system is somewhat easier, but there is not much difference in the sense of application for people.

Russian air defenses shot down eight Uragan missiles fired by the Ukrainian military.
This was stated by the head of the military-civil administration of the Kherson region, Vladimir Saldo.

According to him, the air defense of the Russian army shot down 8 ballistic missiles of the "Hurricane" system, which were aimed at Kherson. "Today, residents came out to celebrate the Great Victory Day and honor the memory of the dead, including 7 million Ukrainians. That's how the Kiev regime congratulated," Saldo said.

In addition, it is known from representatives of the People's Militia of the LPR that the air defense forces shot down a Ukrainian Tochka-U missile on approach to the village of Novaya Astrakhan.

Необходимо сделать поправку. Я писал про "точку-у", а оказался "ураган". Система несколько полегче, но в смысле применения по людям особой разницы нет.

I hope that you are right. I wonder how will Ukrainians react to Poland taking over the part of their country?

It's interesting how the west talks about Russian loses in the battle for Snake island, but mentions nothing about Ukrainian losses. Even when they are not lying, they are not telling the full truth.

The Russian Defense Ministry also revealed additional details regarding the situation with Zmeiniy Island, where Kyiv’s forces recently fell into a trap crated by the Russian military.

“I would like to point out that another Ukrainian Bayraktar-TB2 unmanned aerial vehicle have been shot down by Russian air defence means this afternoon near Zmeiniy Island.

The Kiev regime has thus lost 30 military UAVs alone in this area over the past three days.

9 of these, I remind you, are Bayraktar-TB2 strike UAVs.

The UAVs were all used in the failed “PR campaign” by the Kiev regime to seize Zmeiniy Island on the eve of May 9, the Great Patriotic War Victory Day.

In addition, 3 more bodies of Ukrainian saboteurs nailed from the sea were found by Russian servicemen on the shore today.

Now 27 bodies of Ukrainian special forces and nationalist fighters remain at Zmeiniy Island as a result of Kiev’s failed operation.

In total, the Kiev regime have lost 3 Su-24 bombers and 1 Su-27 fighter jet near Zmeiniy Island during militarily pointless attempt to seize the island.

10 Ukrainian Air Force helicopters have been destroyed. Among them, 3 Mi-8 helicopters with paratroopers on board and 1 Mi-24 support helicopter have been shot down in the air. In addition, 6 more Mi-8 and Mi-24 helicopters involved in the operation have been destroyed on the ground near Artsiz, Odessa Region.

▫️Also 3 Ukrainian Centaur armoured amphibious assault boats with marines on board have been destroyed.

Thus, this adventure ended in disaster for Ukraine. The Kiev regime’s mindless PR campaign to seize Zmeiniy Island on the eve of Victory Day resulted in the senseless deaths of more than five dozen Ukrainian fighters and members of elite AFU units, the loss of 4 aircraft, 10 helicopters, 3 boats and 30 unmanned aerial vehicles,” a spokesman for the Russian Defense Ministry, Major General Igor Konashenkov, said.

The Russian Foreign Ministry: the Polish ambassador was told that Moscow was waiting for an official apology from the Polish leadership after the attack on the Russian ambassador and demanded that the security of employees of Russian diplomatic missions be ensured.

"There is a gross violation of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations. Poland has failed to fulfil one of its main obligations - not to ensure the immunity of Russian diplomats.

A decision on further steps will be taken depending on Warsaw's reaction to the Russian demands, the Foreign Ministry added.

Information from RIA Nowosti telegram channel about bio labs and research carried out in Ukraine:

The Russian Defence Ministry has said that the ideologists behind the US military-biological activities in Ukraine are the leaders of the Democratic Party, the involvement of controlled organizations there and the increase in their revenues allow the leaders of the Democratic Party to receive additional funds for election campaigns while concealing their distribution.

According to the agency, a legal framework for funding military and biological research directly from the federal budget has been formed through US government agencies, and funds from organizations controlled by the Democratic Party leadership, including the Clintons, Rockefellers, Soros and Biden foundations, have been raised under government guarantees.

Large pharmaceutical companies, including Pfizer, Moderna, Merck, as well as Gilead, affiliated with the US military department, were involved in the scheme, the Russian Defence Ministry said.

Russian Defence Ministry: not only the US, but also other NATO countries, such as Germany and Poland, are implementing bioweapons projects in Ukraine.

Germany launched its own biosecurity programme in 2013 with the participation of 12 countries, including Ukraine. Between 2016 and 2019 alone, military epidemiologists from the Bundeswehr Institute of Microbiology took 3,500 blood serum samples from citizens living in 25 regions of Ukraine, the Defence Ministry has said.

According to the ministry, the Polish Institute of Veterinary Medicine has also confirmed the involvement of the Polish Institute of Veterinary Medicine in research of the rabies virus in Ukraine, which was conducted jointly with the US Bettel Institute, one of the Pentagon's key contractors.

In addition, Polish funding was confirmed for the Lviv Medical University, which includes a participant in US military biological projects - the Institute of Epidemiology and Hygiene, where specialists with experience in working with dual-use materials have been retrained since 2002, the ministry said.

The Russian Defence Ministry has reported that in Ukraine in 2020, Ukraine deliberately infected residents of Slavyanoserbskiy district (LNR) with drug-resistant tuberculosis - the organizers of the incident began to distribute counterfeit banknotes infected with the tuberculosis agent among children in Stepovoye village.

Russian Defence Ministry: Mariupol under Ukrainian control in cooperation with the US military was used as a regional centre for collection and passportization of cholera pathogen.

The selected strains were sent to the Public Health Centre in Kiev, which then forwarded the biomaterials to the US, an activity that has been ongoing since 2014, the ministry said.

According to the Ministry of Defense, the laboratory has found an act of destruction of pathogen collection dated February 25, 2022, according to which cholera, tularemia and anthrax pathogens were handled there - but part of the collection of the veterinary laboratory was not destroyed in a hurry, Russian specialists took out 124 strains for safe storage.

The presence in the collection of pathogens uncharacteristic of veterinary medicine - typhoid, paratyphoid, gas gangrene - is a cause for concern and may indicate the involvement of the laboratory in a military biological programme, the Defence Ministry said.

The Russian Defence Ministry commented (IZ.RU) on seized documents on biolaboratories in Ukraine:

🦠 Ukraine is a Western testing ground for the development of biological weapons components and for conducting pharmacological tests that are banned in Western territories.

🦠 The US has tried to destroy traces of its involvement in the research. The Democrat Party and US foundations are the main sponsors and US pharmaceutical companies are the main cover for the labs.

🦠 In 2020, counterfeit money infected with a resistant strain of TB was distributed in the LNR.

🦠 The Pentagon conducted tests on mentally ill people in Kharkiv's Regional Psychiatric Hospital No 1.

Here's an article from Ria Nowosti: Минобороны опубликовало новые данные об опытах США над жителями Украины
The Ministry of Defense published new data on the US experiments on the inhabitants of Ukraine

The Ministry of Defense reported on the experiments of the Pentagon in a psychiatric hospital in the Kharkiv region

MOSCOW, May 11 - RIA Novosti. The Ministry of Defense has received new data on American experiments in biological laboratories in Ukraine, said Igor Kirillov, head of the Radiation, Chemical and Biological Defense Forces of the Russian Armed Forces.
"We have received new information revealing the details of the Pentagon's inhuman experiments on Ukrainian citizens in the psychiatric hospital No. 1 (the village of Strelechie, Kharkiv region). The main category of experimental subjects was a group of male patients aged 40-60 years with a high stage of physical exhaustion," the general said. .
He noted that experts who conducted biological research came through third countries to hide their affiliation with the United States . So, Kirillov showed a photograph of a native of Florida, Linda Oporto, who was directly involved in the work.

The Ministry of Defense came to the conclusion that Ukraine , in fact, has become a Pentagon testing ground for the development of biological weapons components and testing of new types of pharmaceuticals.

The agency confirmed that the participants in this scheme were non-governmental funds controlled by the leadership of the US Democratic Party, and large pharmaceutical companies, including Pfizer, Moderna, American Merck and Gilead associated with the Pentagon.
"American specialists are working to test new medicines bypassing international safety standards. As a result, Western companies are seriously reducing the costs of implementing research programs and gaining significant competitive advantages," Kirillov said.
In addition, Ukrainian government agencies also participated in this program, hiding illegal activities, conducting field and clinical trials, as well as providing the necessary biomaterial.
The head of the RKhBZ troops stated that in this way the Pentagon has significantly expanded its research potential "not only in the field of creating biological weapons, but also in obtaining information about antibiotic resistance and the presence of antibodies to certain diseases in the population of specific regions."

In January of this year, foreign citizens who conducted experiments were urgently evacuated, and equipment and drugs were taken to the western regions of Ukraine.
Specialists of the Ministry of Defense visited two biological laboratories in Mariupol and recorded traces of emergency destruction of documents.
It has been established that this activity has been carried out since 2014, which is confirmed by the acts of transmission of strains. In addition, the act of destroying the collection of pathogenic microorganisms dated February 25, 2022, discovered in the laboratory, confirmed the work with the pathogens of cholera, tularemia and anthrax.
As reported in the Ministry of Defense, a network of more than 30 biological laboratories operated in Ukraine, working in the interests of the Pentagon. After the start of the Russian military special operation, everything necessary for the continuation of the military biological program of the United States has already been removed.

And another one: США изучали на Украине возможности формирования управляемых эпидемий

The United States studied the possibility of forming controlled epidemics in Ukraine

Kirillov: the United States studied the possibility of forming controlled epidemics in Ukraine

MOSCOW, May 11 - RIA Novosti. The United States was studying the possibility of forming controlled epidemics in Ukraine, said Igor Kirillov, head of the troops for radiation, chemical and biological protection of the RF Armed Forces.
"Thus, the information received confirms the implementation by the United States of an offensive military biological program on the territory of Ukraine , the purpose of which is to study the possibility of forming controlled epidemics in specific territories," Kirillov said at a briefing.
He noted that the special operation of the RF Armed Forces made it possible to cross the expansion of the US military-biological presence in Ukraine and stop criminal experiments on civilians.
