Thanks for all this overview and apt commentary.
Was actually surprised to have missed this report, which @Emerald Rob brought to attention with a link. After scanning, it seemed a typical 150 page whitewash with some small do-better slaps, enough clapping, a little virtue signalling (a dash of climate change) while setting the table for future 'pandemic' policies, where perhaps the regulatory drafters will apply fresh pens.
Given the report also included the backdrop of Emergencies Acts; so fire and all the things that could happen that do require some cooperation and formalization, the covid schtick was the draw that will likely shape things to come. The BC.gov was fast on the trigger to have this report done (did not hear about it), so they can now say, see, we had a (cough) independent review done.

Concerning Alberta with its new leader, with the old one now gone - the old one being Jason Kenney who allowed the persecution of Pastor Artur Pawlowski to take place from behind the wall of Alberta Heath under the helm of Dr. Deena Hinshaw (you've all seen the the backstory), is in court again. Here it is day two - day one is here:

‘Prosecution’ turns to ‘persecution’: Day 2 of Pastor Artur Pawlowski's trial
Ezra Levant reports from Lethbridge, Alberta, on the second day of the farcical persecution of Pastor Artur Pawlowski.

Pastor Artur’s legal team did great. Lawyer Sarah Miller walked the judge through Pastor Artur’s sermon line-by-line. She showed that he never called for a blockade; never even mentioned the highway; and that he repeatedly insisted that their protest be peaceful. The central theme of Pastor Artur’s talk was how the truckers should be inspired by the peaceful Polish Solidarity movement of the 1980s.
In response, Johnston was bizarre. He said it was inappropriate for Pastor Artur to talk about the Solidarity movement; he said that Artur didn’t know the real history of Poland and that the judge certainly shouldn’t try to understand it.![]()
I can’t believe it! Now the Solidarity movement is on Trial! Wow! Polish government will be shocked!

Pastor Artur Pawlowski (@ArturPawlowski1) is on trial today, the first person to ever be charged under Alberta's Critical Infrastructure Defence Act. For what? Giving a speech to protesters. In Canada.
