This night my cleaning robot turned on by itself

I known, it can be looked of a random event of no importance but I'm wondering if it can be an indicator of some perturbation of some sort. This is why I write it down here. It was around 5am.

The robot can be started by a remote control but it's an infrared system so it seems unlikely it started through this mean. An the robot is in the kitchen with door closed.

So guess its internal circuits got an electrical perturbation. It's probably a local perturbation but perhaps it's due to something more global. The Sun or something like that and I have a good detector of some sort LOL :halo:

We will see if it happen again.

About a year ago I was awakened in the middle of the night by a strange sound. (I live alone).....I got out of bed and walked down the hallway toward the sound only to discover that my washing machine had turned itself on and the wash tub was filling up with water for a wash with no clothes in it.....I am still freaking out to this day about THAT one.

If your electromagnetic field (your natural one) is different (more powerful) it can emit some burst that interacts with electrical appliances.

I also do not rule out that if there are implants in the body (you know) they have that random effect as well.

It could be just an incident with the appliance, but it happens to me quite often.

I am no longer surprised when a street lamp goes off as I walk by.

I would not worry too much.

Do your robotic vacuum cleaners have smaller siblings like walkie-talkies or pagers? Joke aside, we bought remote controlled led light bulbs, and when we switch on the lights it works on the ac indoor unit too.
I would assume there might be a similar situation with your vacuum cleaners, if not from you maybe from neighbours.

Do you live near an Israeli embassy by any chance?

Buy a frontloader and keep the door open. :)

Some possibilities:
Software errors
No software is perfect, somet

Touch input
If device is enabled by touch that is not physical key then things such as high level of humidity or even some small instects such as spiders may be able to wake up that device...

Cosmic rays
One flipped bit inside cpu may be all it takes for something to happen.

Battery to keep current settings and time.
Some devices "remember" some data thanks to small battery.
Battery got limited amount of juice, when it runs out many things can happen.

Broken valve maybe?

There was a time when I was going through a period of bad anxiety, that our TV would turn on by itself. It happened about three times, when I was alone. It freaked me out because the first time it was tuned to some show about aliens or ufos. Then it stopped and hasn't happened since.

A possible explanation was maybe a neighbor's garage door opener or electronics was on the same frequently or something,

Kinda scary experience if it happens... Especially if last saved volume level was set very high...
Maybe there was power outage and when power returned those devices kinda decided to start up everything?

My parents have a TV that turns on by itself multiple times everyday... It is very short wake up (i only know that it wakes up because of very loud relay switch (i hear "clicking" of something like blinker sound in car). I started to blame their TV decoder plugged into primary HDMI port, but ultimately it doesn't matter because that TV is not "smart enough" to spy on anyone (no camera, microphone or internet connection) and those wake ups do not turn volume on.

TV i have at my flat is unplugged from socket unless i need use it. If someday something will haunt it then i may become grateful as it could allow me to save on electricity bills..

Almost all appliances are always on standby when they are plugged in, so there is an electricity cost.

People say that this consumes almost nothing and is not important.

24 hours a day, 30 days a month and you have to add up each appliance.

The monthly savings can be significant, that is, it really shows on the bill.

Assistant to avoid those scares.:-D

You're right! If the robot stop under my bed, I believe I've to think fast! :-P

About insects and so on, no, I live in a big town, they are all dead from long. Even cockroach ;-) The cosmic rays can be an explanation yeah.
I don't think this one have a button battery, only the big one and the robot stay on it's charger.

You're right, next time I will check if I see some light in flats next mine. Fortunately I've no walkie-talkies or pagers
