It seems so.
The following is a short clip from the Trump/Netanyahu press conference. Trump indeed wants to relocate the Palestinian population, and wants the US to take over control of the area so that it may be developed. Trump's plan sounds like its meant to ultimately quiet things down in the ME, but also sounds truly sympathetic to what the Palestinians have gone through - with Bibi standing right there listening:

What does he mean by bad luck?
Wow. I guess that settles the debate in my mind, whether Trump simply 'bent the knee' to Israel, or is rather being realistic, in the understanding that peace and prosperity for Palestinians is simply not going to happen while in Palestine. A place of 'bad luck', he says - indeed, the bad luck of being where the Zionists chose to settle. So Trump is choosing an evil (land-theft and ethnic cleansing) in order to avoid a greater evil (genocide and extermination, possibly a greater war). Here's some more Trump on the topic:

Sad, but I can see what Trump is doing. It's going to be very interesting to see how this develops, because the world will hate it.

So Trump is going to ask rich countries to build little beautiful houses in Indonesia (??) so that Palestinians can live in peace?
I don't think Palestinians will be very diligent with all they have endured. Of course, people get tired of continuing the struggle crippled, orphaned, starving, and may leave with their hearts broken. And they won't be asked. That`s just Gaza, what about those living at West Bank, same fate?

I was angry but then I found this post. He makes some very good points, one of them ...how would Arab countries explain to theri citizens - who have been protesting throughout this year and a half, incidentally to say - why Trump believes, that the Arab countries would concede? As Alon says, it's stupid. Trump had to do, but this is going to cost him too much. Because he helped the mask to fall. And it seems that he has no choice but to continue to be on their side,
To a certain extent I think Trump looks too forced talking about how good Gaza can be put as the Mediterranean Riviera, I guess he wanted to believe it, he already knows how destroyed Gaza is...I don't know, I refuse to put him in the same yardstick as the psychopath Netanyahu. Not yet, though.

In the event the Palestinians are actually moved elsewhere, that clears the way for the hoped for Greater Isreal.

They (Israel, Zion and Elites) are in for the big money - what else; the gas (and oil ?) belonging to the Palestinians/Gaza, with contracts already speculated on for quite some time. Of course this is a big carrot to the demons.

In all honestly, Trump's pragmatic stance is about the best thing the Gazans have at this point. Obviously losing their homeland is tragic, and lord knows they've suffered terribly these last 75 odd years, but this cycle of tension & violence will continue ad nauseam unless something changes. A chance to live in exile and rebuild their shattered lives is surely better than martyrdom in a warzone. As @T.C. said above, Israel's date with karma is coming in the future, but for now they aren't going anywhere, so the best chance for the Gazans right now is surely exile. Yes, it saddens me, but what else can they do?

Sadly I have to agree that the pragmatic approach is the only solution it seems when dealing with a complete psychopathic entity as the Israeli government. I really do believe Trump wants to stop the bloodshed and sees this as the best solution. As always with him he doesn’t always articulate himself very well and probably has to be careful what’s says about Israel.

Agreed. The problem I have with Trump is that his grasp of historical facts seem to be non-existent. I know he doesn't read, and this is a big problem. Imagine if he'd read Illan Pape, Norman Finkelstein and Douglas Reed? It would be a real mind expanding moment for him. Married to this is the fact that Zionists have a stranglehold on the political narrative in the US, plus you factor in his financial backers like Adelson etc. Facts like these have always tempered my enthusiasm for him. But, despite this, I still think his pragmatism could work for all concerned, even if it's just to stop the senseless bloodshed. He seems committed to this as you say, so all that remains is to watch and take notes on what comes next. A lot of political types have criticised his remarks today, but those who continue to support the two-state solution are living in cloud cuckoo land IMO. It's never gonna happen.

I haven't got the links to hand, but I have read interviews with many Palestinian activists who have stated that the best case scenario for them is for them to be absorbed into one big Israeli state. It's the only solution which protects their civil rights. Given the carnage which is ongoing in the West Bank, well, I'm not so sure. Sometimes you have to take the option of a strategic retreat, and with that, exile is the only option. This year promises to be a very interesting time for the region that's for sure. The times are finally changing, and Trump seems to be the catalyst for all that is moving forward now. All I know is that the killing has to stop, and, ultimately, this situation has laid bare that the international political community has been exposed as being impotent in the face of Israeli barbarism. It will be VERY interesting watching how the future unfolds that's for sure.
