Trump Elected: The True MAGA Era Begins, Now What?

Does he cite any statistics?

It begins with clips of news reports of murdered farmers interspersed with footage of Malema's opposition party singing the old ANC 'shoot the Boer' revolutionary song. Looks bad, but is far from convincing evidence of genocide. Also, the clip of Ramaphosa urging 'a return to militancy'... in what context was he calling for such? The way it was edited suggests it was South Africa's president encouraging targeted killings, but was it?

Not sure if there would be any reliable statistics about this sort of thing? I found the comments on the video Beau posted interesting - many testimonies from white South Africans (and even one black South African) who seem to support that there's something going on (i.e. specifically anti-White violence/murder against the Boer farmers).

It's hard to get a read on the actual situation. On the one hand, you can't just see it through the lens of the Western culture war and MAGA. On the other hand, we should keep in mind that libtards (including libtards in SA) are cognitively incapable of computing anything other than either "there is no issue, nothing to see" or "if there is an issue, it's justified because of the apartheid past". So it's an ideological minefield, and the real situation is probably more complex.

Assuming it's not something Musk would be personally, financially impact by (the EV subsidy, for example), and assuming his core complaint is what he says it is - the 'One Big Beautiful Bill' increasing the US national debt, leading to "all Americans living under debt slavery" - then what are the merits of Musk's argument against the White House/GOP's stance that the OBBB is "everything MAGA stands for"?

I haven't got into the weeds on this, but I'll just note for now that when Trump announced tax cuts during his first term, the media portrayed it as "just more Republican tax cuts for the rich." Then, after tax day the following April, they went around interviewing middle-class American families to find out how badly they were hit. The interviewees - all carefully chosen never-Trumpers - expressed astonishment that their take-home earnings had, in fact, gone up.

So, fast-forward to this term's major tax reform and, right out of the gate, it's universally projected to "increase the US deficit by $3-4 trillion over the next 5-8 years," a "forecast" libertarians like Musk immediately run with. Are they right to? Or are they being riled up with faulty modelling assumptions that generated an immediate wave of negative press, which serves to turn Americans off approval of what the Trump White House states... is precisely what they voted for?

Not sure if there would be any reliable statistics about this sort of thing?
How many farmers killed, how many white farmers killed, how many black farmers killed, how many farmers killed relative to other professions, has it increased gradually or suddenly...

There must be stats on this, and thus we can establish a baseline signal for 'targeted killing of white Afrikaner farmers'.

Not specifically like you're thinking. South African statutory law does not define a "farm attack" as a specific crime. The South African Police Service is also notoriously corrupt and horribly managed, so even the statistics that come from them have to be taken with a grain of salt.

Here is some data:

Debunking the ‘white genocide’ narrative

One of Trump’s central assertions was the existence of a "genocide" targeting white South African farmers. This claim has been widely discredited by legal rulings, statistical data, and South African authorities. It originated in far-right circles and has been amplified by online groups and figures, such as Elon Musk.

South Africa recorded 26,232 murders in 2024. Of these, 44 were linked to farming communities, with only eight of the victims being farmers. Most murder victims in the country are Black South Africans.

Even data collected by white farmers themselves does not support the narrative of ethnic cleansing. The TLU-SA, an Afrikaner farmers' union, reported 1,363 murders of white farmers since 1990, an average of about 40 per year, representing far less than 1% of annual homicides.

Earlier this year, the Western Cape High Court ruled that claims of white genocide were “clearly imagined and not real,” citing the lack of credible evidence.

Misrepresentation of land expropriation policies

Trump also claimed that white farmers were having their land seized without compensation in a government-backed initiative.

In reality, the South African government has long pursued voluntary land reform to correct apartheid-era inequalities. Despite these efforts, white South Africans, who make up less than 8% of the population, still own around 75% of privately held farmland.

In January, Ramaphosa signed a law enabling land expropriation without compensation under exceptional circumstances and only in the public interest. However, this law has not yet been implemented, and the government's preference remains to negotiate with landowners.

No evidence EFF initiated land invasions

Moreover, the opening scene of the White House video shows Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema in South Africa's parliament announcing that "people are going to occupy land. We require no permission from ... the president".

The video also shows another clip of Malema pledging to expropriate land.

While some land has been illegally occupied over the years, the land is usually unused and there is no evidence the EFF initiated any land invasions.

For What It's Worth: This meme has been making the rounds amongst conservative sites. Some think this billionaire bromance break-up is staged. Both Trump and Elon are capable of trolling or actual petty chip-on-the-shoulder behavior. Best to wait it out before one understands what's really going on. For now, enjoy the show and remember Trump was once praised by the Florida prosecutor for being helpful in the case against Epstein. If Trump really was a p-d-file, why jail Epstein and Ghilaine Maxwell during his first run? So, yeah, Trump is most likely mentioned in the Epstein files, but not the way a lot of people might think.

Certainly a possibility but I would tend to think that it is likely just wishful thinking.

What if anything have you personally noticed in American society and economics, and more specifically, in your immediate environment in terms of changes since Trump took over? Also, what do people you know notice? I mean things that you can/see notice yourself and not what you hear secondhand from elsewhere.
I noticed a tiny decrease of food prices, and same for gas, nothing big, but a decrease nevertheless. The cost of living hasn’t change but hasn’t increase for this year either. In my area specifically, there is more security and more active patrols than before.

At the end of Biden, there was a shortage of eggs. Now under Trump, there is no shortage of eggs.
The eggs are less scarce, but the price has increased. At least, for any of the cage-free, organic variety, and those types are never on sale anymore. No notice of lower grocery or gasoline costs. But then, I live in a "blue" state.

The major difference is more bickering among people. Local social media has gone from people posting photos of their vacations, grandkids, and lost animals to negative articles about everything Trump does, which then erupts into a train wreck of comments. The libs are having a field day with the latest Trump/Musk shenanigans. It's pretty embarrassing. :-[

Oh, JD Vance, who worked at Mithril Capital for Peter Thiel, the same person who launched Palantir, which DOGE probably used to analyze and consolidate government databases (or were they incredibly smart and wrote their own software in record time?). The same Thiel who was CEO of PayPal (a rebrand from X.com after merger) and invested in BlackRock Neurotech, which will benefit from HHS's "Internet of Bodies". It really looks like Big Tech takeover of the administration. It's good that Musk's tantrum is revealing that.
Yes, it does look like the plan of the technocrats is to get in "their man" JD Vance as president after Trump. Even though Vance seems very reasonable on a lot of issues, he is too closely connected to Thiel and his gang.

Yeah, I was going to say the egg situation may be slightly better. I currently get eggs at Aldi's. Their premium eggs increased in price and stayed there or only slightly decreased. Other than that, no discernable changes yet and I live in a red State. But in all fairness, I don't think it's been long enough for too much to trickle down to my economic level just yet. I'm hoping when I do my taxes next year I will see an improvement. Time will tell.

For example, have you seen significant improvements such as grocery prices or oil/gasoline prices going down? Any other day to day things you have noticed?

Just noticed gas prices fell about 20 cents in my area over the last few days. The price has been very steadily at $2.69 a gallon recently, and today I saw a couple of stations advertising unleaded for $2.47.

The store brand milk at my supermarket was $3.19 for a gallon, and it has fallen to $2.69 as of a couple weeks ago.

I've definitely noticed a slight decrease in grocery prices, but nothing game changing for me yet.

I'm in East Tennessee, which is a red state.
