Israel-Palestine War: Hamas Breaks Out of Gaza, Israel Responds With Genocide

UN Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese slams corporate complicity in Gaza war & Israeli occupation

For months the Israeli Government Advertising Agency - an agency that operates as a communications group for Netanyahu's government - has been trying to manipulate the narrative about humanitarian aid in Gaza in a smear campaign with very serious accusations against Francesca Albanese, UN Special Rapporteur on the Occupied Palestinian Territories.
Yesterday the Albanese condemned Italy, France, and Greece for allowing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to fly through their airspace en route to the US, despite being subject to an ICC arrest warrant for war crimes. She said the countries, all Rome Statute signatories, owed an explanation for providing “safe passage” to a suspect they were “obligated to arrest,” warning that such violations “weaken and endanger” the international legal order.
Albanese issued 30 June in a detailed report the complicity of 60 companies, including major technology firms like Google, Amazon and Microsoft, which she said were involved in "the transformation of Israel's economy of occupation to an economy of genocide" in which almost half of the companies cited were implicated, after being confronted with evidence, of having violated international law.
The report called for the International Criminal Court and national judicial systems to pursue investigations and prosecutions of corporate executives and companies. It also called on UN member states to pursue sanctions and asset freezes.
In an interview with Al Jazeera (London), Albanese stressed that while not all companies facilitate genocide, those that supply military technology or profit from settlements have “crossed red lines,” citing Lockheed Martin and Airbnb as examples.
Albanese detailed how Israel's economy has skyrocketed during the destruction of Gaza, with the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange earning $220 billion, calling this an “occupation economy.”
She urged legal accountability, stressing that existing frameworks allow for prosecution of companies that sustain war crimes.
The report, he said, is not intended not to disrupt markets, but to enforce ethical boundaries when “starving and pulverizing civilian populations.”

And as I write this :
The US imposes sanctions on UN Human Rights Council Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese “for her illegitimate and shameful efforts to prompt International Criminal Court action against US and Israeli officials, companies, and executives,” according to Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who says she is leading a “campaign of political and economic warfare against the United States and Israel.”

Someday, somehow, but not yet.

NEW: All three independent experts on the U.N. Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory and Israel have resigned, amid a broader U.S. crackdown involving sanctions and asset freezes on international officials critical of Israel.

➤ The departing commissioners are Navanethem Pillay (chair), Chris Sidoti, and Miloš Štrugar. Pillay and Sidoti were founding members of the Commission, formed in 2021.

➤ In its March 2025 report, the Commission found that Israeli forces committed rape, sexual assault, forced nudity, and threats of sexual violence — carried out systematically as part of standard operating procedures, especially during arrests, detention, and home raids.

➤ Israel’s government has repeatedly attacked the panel and denied all requests for access or cooperation — both in Israel and the occupied Palestinian territories. After blocking the Commission from interviewing Israeli victims of October 7, officials later accused it of antisemitism for not reporting in greater detail on alleged cases of sexual violence that day.

➤ In their joint statement, the commissioners said the resignations had “absolutely nothing to do with any external event or pressure” and called it an opportunity to reconstitute the panel.

➤ The resignations come amid a broader U.S. crackdown on international officials critical of Israel. In recent months, Washington has sanctioned ICC prosecutor Karim Khan for issuing arrest warrants against Netanyahu and Gallant — freezing his U.S. assets and blocking access to email and banking.

➤ Earlier this month, the U.S. also imposed sanctions on UN Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese, accusing her of antisemitism and bias after her latest report listed corporations benefiting from an “economy of genocide” in Palestine. First reported by the AP. More details below.

Mystery buildings in Rafah raise concerns | Bird's Eye View

In this video Al Jazeera's digital investigation team (SANAD) examined satellite data to analyse the full scope of devastation in Rafa.

They identified clear patterns.
A scattering of schools / medical centers are 'mysteriously' still standing.

There has been a recent surge in demolitions over a 4 month period.
SANAD counted roughly 12,800 buildings destroyed by the Israeli military between April - July 4th, 2025.

However some buildings in Gaza appear to have 'miraculously' remained intact.
39 schools
1 university
8 medical centers

Based on a UN report:
Average number of those displaced per shelter is over 12,000 (ridiculously full beyond their capacity).

It seems obvious, given the remaining buildings:
40 educational facilities have probably been 'preserved' for future use as 'relocation sites'.
They are likely intended to house up to 500,000 Palestinians.

On July 7th, Israel's defense minister, Israel Katz, announced orders to establish a 'humanitarian zone' in Rafa.
The plan would initially involve moving about 600,000 Palestinians to a new zone where they would be confined and unable to leave.

Eventually, the Israeli government says it plans to shift Gaza's entire population into this zone.

The defense minister's announcement follows a Reuters report also from July 7th about a proposal to establish large-scale camps in Gaza supported by GHF, a US and Israel backed organization. Although GHF denied submitting such a proposal, Reuters reviewed a document bearing its name on the cover.

Throughout its war on Gaza, Israel has maintained that forced displacement was not part of its military objectives. However, satellite images and the pattern of what seemed to be selectively preserved buildings suggest a calculated strategy raising questions about the true intent behind the Israeli army's actions.

Pretty easy to see their 'true intentions' have always been crystal clear.

US Ambassador to ireland Mike Huckabee is one of a number of US politicians who has levelled criticism at Ireland for progressing the Israeli Settlements in the Occupied Palestinian Territory (Prohibition of importation of Goods) Bill.

Republican senator Lindsey Graham and Republican congressman Pete Stauber have also taken to social media in the last 24 hours to express their opposition to the bill.

I'm noticing a "possible" sea change on reporting in the western world.

(Sky News is a British news organization. It operates a 24-hour news channel and is headquartered in Isleworth, England. Sky News also has a global presence)

From Sky News:

(One America News Network (OANN) is a far-right cable news and opinion)

From OANN:

"HOW MANY AMERICANS DO ISRAELI SETTLERS HAVE TO KILL BEFORE WE CARE?"
(3 minute video)

And finally, can Superman give us a hand?

I haven't seen the movie, but its being said that it is for the young, and Israel plays the "Antagonist" Ben Shapiro sure seems upset about it! I'll post a link below to Ben's rant about the movie. Its also in the article.

Film Review: James Gunn’s Superman cements Israel’s villain status in the American imagination

James Gunn’s new Superman movie, which draws an analogy between Israel and the villainous country of Boravia, demonstrates how Israel's idealized image in American culture has been shattered by the widespread acknowledgment of Palestinian oppression.

"Boravia’ is Israel, and is the bad guy" (Ben's link just below.)

"That’s why it provokes denial from the likes of far-right Israel backer pundit Ben Shapiro and hysteria from other pro-Israel zealots who don’t deny the reality of the movie."

"A movie painting Israel in a villainous light reflects a generational shift in how Israel is viewed. Warner Bros. clearly didn’t see it as a risk."

"No going back to an idealized Israel"

Hello.
I've just stumbled upon a website (cited in an article from the French journal Le Monde) written by an Israelian university historian (with a conscience !), documenting what's going on in Gaza :

This is, basically, a factual report of 232 A4 pages (in version 6.7.0) on Gaza genocide by Israel's army.

Here is the content of the "about" page of this website (NB: underlines are mine) :
Lee Mordechai in witnessing-the-gaza-war.com/ said:
Regarding the Author and This Document

This document was written out of a profound sense of responsibility and commitment to addressing the ongoing humanitarian and political crisis in Gaza. I, Lee Mordechai, a historian working at an Israeli university and an Israeli citizen, wrote it by drawing on my professional expertise and moral obligation to examine and document the unfolding events. Based on my experience conducting rigorous research and critical analysis, I have undertaken this work as both a citizen compelled to respond to the actions of his government and an academic determined to uphold human rights and ethical principles.

The creation of this document stems from a belief that silence in the face of injustice is unacceptable. In an atmosphere where dissenting voices are rare, this work seeks to bear witness to the immense suffering on the ground and to offer an account grounded in evidence and transparency, to the best of my ability. It reflects my conviction in synthesizing scholarly rigor and ethical responsibility when addressing events of such profound consequences for the present and future between the river and the sea.

Structured as both a public statement and an archive, this document aims to make sense of a deeply complex and troubling situation. It compiles evidence from reliable sources, including humanitarian organizations, investigative reports, and firsthand accounts, to provide a nuanced understanding of the war’s impact. At its core, this is an attempt to preserve a record for those who seek clarity and insight amidst the conflicting narratives in public discourse.

Written in a measured and factual tone, the document avoids emotional language, instead allowing the evidence to speak for itself.
With this document I hope to contribute meaningfully to public discourse on this conflict and encourage readers to engage thoughtfully with its human and historical dimensions.

This work is an act of bearing witness—a reflection of my commitment to justice, accountability, and the ethical responsibility of ensuring that such stories are told and preserved. I invite readers to critically examine the evidence and consider the moral and political questions the current situation.
(NB: It may have been cited in this thread already, I've not read it entirely, and I don't know yet how to search for it, because the embedded search engine doesn't allow it ! Sorry if I repeat something already known here.)

Illan Pape continues to come out fighting in his recent interviews. He still foresees Israel's eventual demise. I love the guy, but I wish I shared his optimism. He's a patient man I must say, more so than me. It kinda makes me think of David Icke's main point; that we need as a global populace to stop acquiescing to the dominant western political orthodoxy. For this we need real, hard numbers. If the middle classes around the world awaken and feels it, well, then maybe there's hope. Until it hits them in their pockets, well, we shall see.

Every day when I go on X, I read new posts from people in Gaza. They are desperate, beyond anything they've suffered before. We are witnessing a people who are not only being murdered, but also starved to death. Increasingly I think we need to rise above party politics and petty personal ideologies and unite for the greater good on this issue, among many others. I mean, what are the hopes for peaceful developments in the region? A bolide? Israeli opposition to this devastation is alarmingly small. And in the UK both Conservatives and Labour are craven facilitators, along with both parties in the US. All bought and paid for. Honestly, it drives me to despair. If I was a Gazan? Oh man, perish the thought. I honestly don't know what I'd do, but the temptation to toss a few molotov cocktails has crossed my mind.

Until the western "silent majority" sees the truth and speaks out, well we're screwed along with the Palestinians. The way of Gaza may well prove to be the way of the world.

I feel that the eventual destruction of Evil takes more time, the more it is supported. Just think of Nazi Germany and how much it was 'supported', you could say 'tollerated', or even 'excused' too. The more that happens, the longer it takes to reach it's eventual demise and the more damage it does along the way. That's just my opinion, but I think that's what happens.

Unfortunately you are right, when it begun we were outraged the IDF dare to attacked an hospital, now thousands of miles of rubble.

Israeli's are finding it difficult to travel abroad, as well as staying at home.

"Hundreds of Israelis remain stuck on a cruise ship in Greece after pro-Palestinian protests erupted at the port, blocking their disembarkation." (video below)

'Israel' thrown into confusion after YAF launch Palestine-2 missile

(from today's news)

"the operation had successfully met its goals, forcing millions of Israeli settlers to scramble for shelter and paralyzing all activity at the airport."

"Air raid sirens blared across wide areas of the occupied territories, including Tel Aviv, Rishon LeZion, Holon, Bat Yam, Ramat Gan, Givatayim, Jaffa, Beit Shemesh, Ness Ziona, Bnei Brak, Modi'in, Ramla, Lod, Kiryat Malakhi, Kiryat Gat, and Shoam." Takeoffs and landings were suspended at Ben Gurion Airport"

Also in the news:

"MAGA Going to Israel for Propaganda Training"

"The Americans, whose names have not been divulged, belong to the MAGA"

“Foreign Ministry officials say the tour delivers significant media, advocacy, and diplomatic benefits – and represents a strategic shift, as traditional outreach is no longer sufficient to shape public opinion. They aim to leverage the massive followings of young social media influencers to bolster Israel’s standing in the U.S.”

"Ministry document said Israel365 “has the ability to smoothly link the spiritual/biblical and geopolitical aspects of support for Israel.”

"The Foreign Ministry has set a goal of bringing 550 influencer delegations to Israel by the end of 2025 to continue this outreach.”

“with the rise of the America First movement and MAGA in American politics, it’s essential for Israel that the movement adopt a pro-Israel position.”

"They are all younger than 30 and each have hundreds of thousands or millions of followers, a vast, target-rich environment"
