Trump Elected: The True MAGA Era Begins, Now What?

One other way to think about it is that since the idea of draining the swamp and jailing pedophiles is out of the question, the only other alternative is to deport shoplifters and homeless citizens and make a Potemkin village for the donors and owners. You gotta keep'america great again, depending to whom it may concern.

Hard to say. Stats suggest that there is no serious crime issue in DC, at least, no worse than most other state capitals/large cities, and in several cases, less serious crime. So not sure what's going on here, maybe just Trump on his usual "peace maker" crusade, but this time at home.

Well, there is this to consider:

DC police commander suspended, accused of changing crime statistics

News4 reached out to Pulliam for comment. He denied the allegations against him and referred us to the public information officer.

Union officials said there is a larger trend of manipulating crime statistics.

“When our members respond to the scene of a felony offense where there is a victim reporting that a felony occurred, inevitably there will be a lieutenant or a captain that will show up on that scene and direct those members to take a report for a lesser offense,”
Fraternal Order of Police Chairman Gregg Pemberton said. “So, instead of taking a report for a shooting or a stabbing or a carjacking, they will order that officer to take a report for a theft or an injured person to the hospital or a felony assault, which is not the same type of classification.”

The police department's command staff is focusing on two categories in order to get the numbers to fall, Pemberton said: armed with a dangerous weapon and injured person to the hospital.

“When management officials are directing officers to take reports for felony assault, or if they're going back into police databases and changing offenses to felony assault, felony assault is not a category of crime that's listed on the department's daily crime stats,” Pemberton said. “It's also not something that's a requirement of the FBI's uniform crime reporting program. So, by changing criminal offenses from, for example, ADW bat or ADW gun to felony assault, that would avoid both the MPD and the FBI from reporting that as a part one or a felony offense.”

"BREAKING - It has been revealed that DC Police Commander Michael Pulliam was placed on leave after he and MPD command directed officers to downgrade felony reports and alter crime classifications, such as “felony assault,” deliberately manipulating data to falsely show a 26% drop in violent crime in 2024."

For some years now big blue cities, across the country, have been manipulating their crime numbers to say far less then is actually happening. This has been known and reported on so nothing new and only ONE person is called on it so far.

I really don't know how these planned crime waves in blue cities will be brought back to sanity without the military being brought in as the local police aren't able or are unwilling to handle the problem. I welcome the military actually and it doesn't cause worry it will get out of hand turning the entire country into a jackboot police state, thats not the intention behind it. The governments of these cities must also be held to account or kicked out of office being criminals themselves who encourage this crime without a care for the citizens.

The National Guard, in my understanding, isn't as well trained as the regular military and they have their limitations. We're told they will assist the police but can't make arrests. If there is a blow up by organized crime gangs the Marines would be called in then Martial Law probably would be put in place. This has happened before in the country and we haven't devolved into tyranny. Its needed sometimes, so getting all worried isn't necessary in my view.

Martial law in the United States refers to times in United States history in which a region, state, city, or the whole United States was placed under the control of a military body. On a national level, both the US President and the US Congress have the power, within certain constraints, to impose martial law since both can be in charge of the militia. In nearly every state, the governor has the power to impose martial law within the borders of the state. In the United States, martial law has been used in a limited number of circumstances, such as New Orleans during the Battle of New Orleans; after major disasters, such as the Great Chicago Fire of 1871, the 1906 San Francisco earthquake, or during riots, such as the Omaha race riot of 1919 or the 1920 Lexington riots; local leaders declared martial law to protect themselves from mob violence, such as Nauvoo, Illinois, during the Illinois Mormon War, or Utah during the Utah War; or in response to chaos associated with protests and rioting, such as the 1934 West Coast waterfront strike, in Hawaii after Japan's attack on Pearl Harbor, and during the Civil Rights Movement in response to the Cambridge riot of 1963
There is always the possibility a few bad actors in the military will take a opportunity for bad behavior, thats the way some people are after all.

Here it is. The lawlessness is truly explosive, destroying the economy by putting small businesses and larger chain stores out of business along with drug trafficking and all the the rest.

37% of Major US Cities Stop Reporting Crime Data to FBI Since 2021, Skewing Statistics

A significant portion of law enforcement agencies in the United States have stopped reporting crime data to the FBI, leading to a substantial gap in the country's crime statistics. Since 2021, 37% of police departments, including those in major cities like Chicago, Los Angeles, and New York, have ceased participation in the FBI's Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) program. This has resulted in at least 6,000 agencies, or 32% of them, not providing data since 2022, which means that 25% of the country's crime data is not captured. Consequently, the crime statistics presented may be skewed, as they do not account for data from some of the cities with the highest crime rates. About 40% of departments in violent cities have also stopped reporting, further exacerbating the issue.

I think at this point we have to disabuse us of the notion that there is much of any real breakthrough Trump can and/or will achieve against the so called “deep state“. It was an almost impossible task from the get-go even we assume he really wanted to do it. Yes, I think he will still push against the most glaring things like a real new war but I think he can’t really change much for the better in the long run. The question is, are there future candidates that could break through more successfully?

Unless someone like Tucker or Candace Owens runs and wins, not really. And neither of them want to go into politics or know much about the behind-the-scenes details of the deep state.

JD Vance seems to be closely aligned with the technocrats (Palantir, Thiel, etc.) and would probably at most replace who runs the deep state, while pursuing similar goals of controlling the population. Musk seems to be similar with his new party.

I was wondering if there is a unofficial reason why this first meeting between Trump and Putin takes place in Alaska?

I heard that the Russian delegation comes from Russia over to the US side via the bering strait. Could it be that safety precautions primarily by the Russians are at play for why it is taking place there because they think they can control the situation (primarily in terms for Putins safety) better there compared to Washington for example?

In my view the risk is all on Putin. I don't know why his security would risk him leaving Russia.

Can you imagine if something happened to him? 😶

First I think most reasonable people would agree that it can probably be pretty risky for Putin to ever attempt to set a foot again into the empire and it’s immediate satellites (at least for now and the foreseeable future).

On the other hand if there is one person in the world that should be (and most likely is) aware of almost all possible dangers in that regard then it is definitely Putin. Having said that, Putin is also known for at times being rather daring and trusting faith if it is worth it.

Clearly what can and will come out of that meeting is most likely more for show (primarily on the US side) with nothing substantial that can be expected to be achieved. But even if it is just for show it is sending clear signals and after all it is Putins job that he is supposed to be doing. And it is also known that Putin will and often does take any possibility chance for good outcomes serious however small they might be. He is known for leaving no stone unturned that could possibly yield positive results even if that means to again and again give people the chance and benefit of a doubt, to correct their wrong doings. Also I would guess he is expected to take some risks himself too when his ordinary men are taking great risk right now on the front line including dying themselves (I think it is likely that Putin sees this as an important and right thing to do to some extent as well in that regard). He is the head of a country that is quite literally at war with the collective empire at the moment.

I think all things considered Putin probably thinks meeting in that way is the best way to go taking both consideration into account: safety and chance for something fruitful/substantial. Assuming of course that this is one reason why they meet like that in Alaska.
