Reiki Re-attunement

Jedi Master
Hello, to all, this is my first post in 2009, glad to still be part of the forum , even if a am still struggling to say anything interesting. :/

Are there any Reiki people reading who could advise or let me know would they did in these circumstances. I am rereading "The Wave Book Two" at the moment and it's playing on my mind.

My attunements were done with the Diane Stein version of the Power Symbol and Hon-Sha-Ze-Sho-Nen. I am at level two and want to practice my Reiki but I am afraid to because these symbols were not accurately passed to me that it won't be beneficial. I'm especially keen to practice some remote healing

Any thoughts or comments?

I did ask my Reiki Master but she didn't think it mattered!

Some Reiki masters I know of are also masters in wishful thinking and do not mind combining various styles to see what goes best. Yours might fit into this category. If my attunement were inappropriate I would also consider it inappropriate to treat others. A re-attunement is the only proper solution I can imagine in this case.

Thats what I thought. Thank you for your advice.

Now the task of finding a Reiki master who doesn't use the reformed symbols

Finding an authentic Reiki master is something I've been working on for a VERY long time now. I think the closest that I've come is through the Radiance Technique. http://www.trtia.org
But even then, I've been kind of iffy on trying them. Researching everything that I can about Reiki (on-line) proves one thing: There is a lot of disinformation out there. However, this is the only place I've found where it talks about the history of Reiki and it closely parallels what Laura had written about what her Reiki master told her with strict emphasis on using the correct original symbols.

I had a look at that page, and it looks okay - kind of. Barbara Ray's background and reputation seems to be good, the diplomas have the Hanko stamps on them too. The only thing that bothers me a little, as I am a part of a Reiki association that promotes the original Usui Reiki Ryoho, is the fact that she has registered so many different 'Service Marks' as she calls them:

The Radiance Technique®

The First Degree Official Program of The Radiance Technique®

The Second Degree Official Program of The Radiance Technique®

The Third Degree Official Program of The Radiance Technique®

Radiant Touch®

The Official Reiki Program®

The Intact Master Keys of The Radiance Technique(sm)

The Radiant TRT Heart First Ashram®

Authentic Reiki®

Real Reiki®

TRT

Now, it could be that she is just trying to make a living, making her services more appealing, but why not just settle with the original Reiki concept that she was taught by Takata? Extra bells and whistles, "special Reiki" etc makes me always suspicious.

I you haven't done so, have a look at this site: _http://www.aetw.org/

Many of us Reiki practitioners here on the forum consider the James Deacon page to be accurate and reliable, or that is my understanding. There's quite a lot information about Reiki on this forum too, just do a search and you'll find it.

Well, I have looked at the site quoted above and it too talks about the Radiance Technique. _http://www.aetw.org/reiki_Radiance_Technique.html
Another site connected to _http://www.trtia.org is _http://www.authenticreiki.org
The authentic reiki site has a list of some reiki masters attuned with the Radiance Technique and how to contact them (at least the ones who have given their permission to be contacted). From what I've been able to ascertain, the reason for the specific trademarks (or service marks) of the organization is to distinguish authentic reiki from the "polluted" versions that are out there.
