Autoimmune Protocol Plan B - Supplements

Since there's been some discussion of an alternate version to the Autoimmune Bug Killin' protocol, something that relies more on supplements than pharmaceuticals, I thought I'd share some of the things I've been thinking about that would be helpful. I'm hoping this thread will lead to some...

Very high-calorie diets show how overeating may lead to diabetes

Another study showing that eating a standard American high-calorie diet (and hence high-carb) leads the body into a "pre-diabetic" state by inducing insulin resistance. The study focuses on the link between insulin resistance and oxidative stress, which triggers changes in a glucose transport...

    MTHFR mutations

That's one thing that was bugging me about the research and testing things. Glutathione and NAC would give me a good boost, and then I'd crash. For me it seems I had to build up the B12 reserve and daily folate levels before I could handle things. I used NAC for testing. My best guess at the...

Ketogenic diet AND hypocholesterolemia. How is that possible?

Bad article. Oranges are pure sugar: bad. Saturated fats are GOOD. In short, it is just a MSM propaganda piece with almost no value.

    Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

I just finished reading a book, Diagnosis and Treatment of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome: its mitochondria, not hypochondria by Sarah Myhill, which Gaby had recommended to me several months ago but I hadn't been able to get to until recently. Now that I have, I highly recommend it -- it's a very good...

    The Depression Sessions

Thanks Turgon for your summary of Dr. Kalish's interview, and anyone else who might be able to do one of these -- it's hard to watch all of them in the allotted timeframe unless you happen to have a lot of free time at your disposal. I was able to take notes on Ben Lynch's presentation...

Pantothenic Acid (Vitamin B5): The "anti stress" factor

I got myself some B5 powder, and have been experimenting since yesterday. I also searched for what others have said about megadosing. http://juicingtherainbow.com/649/vitamins/vitamin-b5/ As with all B vitamins, taking one in excess can deplete others. So it's important to get a good B...

A mountain of meat blocking my way back…?

I'm no expert, but I think dextrose is preferably to avoid -I actually thought it was a milk product, but searching for it, it seems to be a glucose derived from starches product, so it might contain something from corn, wheat, or rice. But I don't know if the amount that is in the bacon, is...

    Melatonin

I can't say melatonin does anything to relieve my pain - magnesium helps me here - but it certainly is the only supplement i've found thus far that i can (kind of) rely on. I have chronic insomnia which has eased up with the diet and EE etc.. but still i think i've got about 6 months to go...
