Hello all,
So context... I have a new back injury. The doctor thinks it is only muscular not a spinal injury like the herniated disc I had 2 years ago. The doctor gave me some anti-inflammatories, and I am using them. It was hurting bad, and I was walking around town like an 80-year old man. I can study and I can run my errands because of these meds, so in the short term (4 or 5 days), I think it is worth it.
Question 1. The instructions with the medicine say that they should not be taken with serotonin uptake inhibitors. Could this mean that it is not good to take them at the same time as 5-HTP?
Question 2. This is a general question. I am fairly up to date with the medical research done by Dr. Psyche, Laura, and others here. I remember that it has been stated here that long term use of anti-inflammatory pharmaceuticals may eventually defeat the purpose of taking them. Having said that, anti-inflammatory drugs seem to be useful in emergencies like those first few days of awful pain of a back injury. Much of the research here has been about anti-inflammation methods of diet, etc. but these researches are about global lifestyle changes that slowly turn the tables. Have we found any useful alternatives in the emergency sense to anti-inflammatory drugs?
Thanks in advance for any replies...
