3 Idiots (Bollywood)

The Living Force
I saw this movie last night and I have to say that it was very good. It was not at all what I was expecting, and quite a wonderful surprise.

Here is the IMDB info, but I must say the synopsis doesn't do the movie justice at all.

Without saying too much, it's basically a story about true friendship - and the psychopathic teaching style of today's colleges and how "mechanical" it all is. It had a lot of funny moments, but sad moments too, showed some beautiful scenery of India - and of course Bollywood singing :D which I must say was all very well done!

Highly recommended!

We recently watched that the film and I think it is a well done movie and most of all in them you can find many things that got lost in most Hollywood movies. The movie is imo inspirational, funny and tells also an important story: about friendship.

Yes indeed! It is an outstanding movie... Seems like everything that the western movie culture has lost, is in there. Namely: Compassion, Humanity, a higher goal, a profoundly deep story line which is inspiring, mixed with very nice music performances and pretty good humor.

How it is filmed, is also top notch (technically speaking). So Bollywood can put something like that together, with very little money (compared to Hollywood productions)... Respect!

Hollywood can pack up...

I was touched by the movie in a similar way as when I watched Slumdog Millionare, another famous Bollywood movie. Both of them are great in their own ways!
Hollywood might really be getting worse, most of my favourite movies seem to have been filmed before 2000...

3 Idiots is one of my favorite Bollywood movies too. The best scene involves the main character, an engineering genius, jury rigging a small vacuum to help deliver a baby. For fans of the genre, I'd recommend the movie Jab We Met.

It's about a guy reeling from his father's death and the revelation his mother was having an affair, as well as his own break up. He contemplates suicide by jumping off a train, but a chatty girl yanks him back unaware of his intent, thinking him just careless. A bit later, they both get off at a stop. The guy has no intention of getting back on, but again, the girl doesn't realize this, and misses the train leaving trying to get him back on. As a result she demands he escort her all the way back home. Might still be on Netflix among plenty of others. India makes a lot of movies.
