There have been sinkholes open up in this location in 2015 and 2018. Interesting thing is, they've all been in the month of September around school holiday time.

"A SINKHOLE has opened up at a popular beach camping area on just the second day of school holidays.
Brisbane resident Chris Fry was at Inskip Point this morning when the beach started giving way in front of her, as blocks of sand plunged into the ocean.
A crowd gathered to watch, as the sand disappeared, not far from the scene of another massive sinkhole which opened up recently."
