Actually, I think it's a sad situation that points out that they do live. And, I have noticed the late influx of other such types...

I'm going to go ahead and wave the "gonzerooni" flag. All the posts I've seen by kiolm before tonight show an immature homophobic fundamentalist trolling for female companionship. The repeated assertations to being an "adult male", "grown man", etc., along with the statement

imply to me that this person does not act his age when he's with his peers, is not taken seriously, and feels fully justified not responding to certain questions, much in the way a psychopath will not respond to certain questions.

"Homophobic fundamentalist" might seem a bit harsh, but I see

I can promise ya I'm in the top 10% of least gullible people. I've had fellowship with cops and swat and military types for my entire life.

These are simply just middle aged over weight dudes.

"Fellowship" is not a word you usually see outside fundy groups...unless you're a LARP'er, but kiolm doesn't strike me as having the imagination to LARP. So, associating with military/police who are known to be psychopath-heavy groups, in a fundamentalist setting, in addition to the other references, especially the "Sweetheart" crack to Heimdallr, imply "homophobic fundamentalist" to me.

I started writing this before I saw the posts in the child porn thread, so I'll just move this over there.

Because your 40 years plus of experience say so? Your experience in years is nothing compared to the experience in years of the combined minds of this forum.

Why on earth you get all annoyed with the thought that 5200 people bought child pornography, and turned that into a gender debate? Do you realize that a gender debate has nothing to do with the issue at hand?

If the 5200 were men and women how would you feel? It is the number that disturbs you?

Yeah, mkrnhr, as far as my understanding of Greek goes, "homophobic" would really translate as "afraid of oneself" or better, "afraid of one's own kind".

In "The Caricature of Love", Hervey Cleckley uses the term "cryptohomosexual" to refer to overt machismo, when a man shows a preference for the company of dominating men, e.g. police officers, military men, etc. with authoritarian personalities. Cleckley's term is a little misleading, imho, since he uses it in the sense of "hidden, or secret, homosexual" - i.e. the homosexuality is hidden from the cryptohomosexual himself, and from all others. It's not necessarily a reference to "latent homosexuality", but rather an exhibition, more than anything else, of fear of the feminine principle.

At least that's how I understand it from the explanation I've heard - corrections on this of course welcome.
