How much CO2 does a big oak tree breathe in a year? Or an acre of grass? Or a acre of maize?

I'm finding a lot of contradictory opinion out there.

I suppose then that the research needs to be looked at and the variables (of which there may be many) need to be taken into account. For example, the type of organism being measured, how large it is and the environment it exists in. As well as the time frame it is being measured over. I think this is what these people are trying to do here.
