I wanted to ask for a feedback on one recent happening.
About a week ago, my husband went to sleep in a living room because the bedroom was too stuffy. At night, he was awaken by some animal scratching on a roof. It sounded as if it was on top of the chimney, and then, it fell down. Our chimney is not brick all the way up, instead, it's a steel chute that doesn't perfectly connect with a roof chimney structure. Somehow, the critter must have fallen outside of the chute and got stuck inside the wall (between the main frame and plaster wall).
For a while it was scratching and biting there, and then the sounds stopped. My husband thought he must have gotten out. After a few days though, we had tons of flies in the house. And then it started smelling; we first thought it was a gas leak, but the gas company checked things out and said everything is clean, and that's when we put two and two together.
So we have a poor dead squirrel or chipmunk stuck in a wall in our house, and it stinks and sends in flies, and we would have never known what it is if we didn't hear it back then -- and there is nothing we can do to take him out other than breaking a wall, probably in a few places until we figure out where exactly it is located.
I think if we just let it be, the smell will eventually go away, so it's not a big problem. What I wondering about is, if it is a sign for something, what could it be, what could it represent. I have never been one to decipher daily happenings and look for a special meaning in them (mostly because I didn't think I will be able to do it accurately anyway). Bu in light of the recent session I wonder if I would start paying attention to things like that.
